NCAA Football 2006
Still the best game they have made and the game by which I judge all NCAA games by today. Just wish there was some way that they could incoporate everything that made this game great into future games.

Re: NCAA Football 2006
I missed the disciplinary part of the game NCAA had. Then the probations, etc. Character guys mattered, but I guess the NCAA didn't like showing that aspect.7 National Championships
43 Conference Championships
152 All-Americans
5 Heisman Trophy Winners
#1 in weeks ranked #1 in AP Poll
#1 in weeks ranked top 5 in AP Poll
#1 in wins/winning percentage since 1946

Re: NCAA Football 2006
I agree, probably my favorite part of dynasty mode among other things. I wish they would bring back the crowd meter/composure ratings as well, the crowd noise sounded alot better back then and players actually got rattled during games. Linemen would forget their blocking assignments and centers sometimes would not snap the ball even if you hit the hike button if you were playing in a real hostile environment.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 2006
Can't believe the original poster made a thread about this. I just played NCAA '06 on Thursday after losing backwards compatibility since "upgrading" my XBox360 hard drive. (Had to figure out how to restore the xbox emulator partition.)
I couldn't believe how much better that NCAA '06 was and having all the 1-AA (FCS) teams in the game as opposed to having to use Team Builder. Passing seemed really easy and it seemed possible to turn up the difficulty, without getting terribly frustrated with current generation's "cheap" AI.
2006 isn't my favorite, but it's very close ... the one with Carson Palmer (NCAA Football 2004) on the cover is my personal favorite. It's a shame the XBox can't properly emulate that game.NCAA 2006 is a little slow on the 360, but still playable and very fun and much less aggravating for casual gamers such as myself.
Everyone else feel this way? Without screwing around with sliders, the picks and swats from NCAA 12 made me want to throw my controller across the wall due to linebackers. Sliders have finally made it playable ... but it took tinkering.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 2006
yeah I'd have to say 2006 was my favorite.
Edit: Now I'm going to spend the rest of the night watching gameplay from 2006..ahh...glory days.Last edited by BoomerSooner11; 07-15-2012, 11:33 PM.11-2Comment

Re: NCAA Football 2006
Any idea why intros were taken out for the next generation consoles? Really seems like the newer versions don't share that same type of collegiate feel. I know we now have team specific intros since last year and the atmosphere, but 100-150 of these videos help bring back gameday. Also I miss Corso's prediction on who would win the game. Also, there was never any freezing on NCAA 04 & NCAA 06, on either system.
