Re: The Best Dugout Food In Baseball: The 2012 Boston Red Sox

Well we're heading to Fenway for the first time, so the season is really ready to begin now. I'll take a 3-3 road trip against tough teams like the Blue Jays and Tigers any day. After taking 2 of 3 in Detroit, it would have been nice to take the series in Toronto too, but that's a good team they've got, so I'm not too disappointed. One thing I am disappointed in is our starting pitching, though. Only Daniel Bard has looked sharp, and Lester is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in 2 starts. Not exactly what we expect from our ace, especially after last September.
Toronto is going to be a tough team this year
On the bright side, some of our players are really stepping up on offense. Big Papi has been showing he's still got it. He has 4 home runs already, including 3 in the last 2 games. Keep that up, buddy, and we'll just see about getting you an extension to keep you around for a while. Jacoby Ellsbury has been setting the tone in the leadoff spot, and has 6 RBIs, which is great. Guys like Saltalamacchia and Aviles are off to great starts as well, which has been a pleasant surprise. I'd like to see Pedroia get that average above the mendoza line, but it's still early, he'll get it done. And our bullpen has been fantastic so far, Padilla is the only guy that's given up a run.
Ortiz looks like he's on a mission this year
Like I said at the top, it's on to Fenway now. We play Tampa, then Texas, and then the Yankees. For better or worse, we're going to know a lot about what our team is capable of after that stretch. I will touch base again after the Tampa Bay series. Until then, Go Sox!
