    Redsfan's AS Sliders

    SETTINGS

    BATTING & BASERUNNING
    Hitting Difficulty - All-Star
Hitting Interface - Zone (I haven't tested with timing, but it should be OK)
Hitting View – I'm using GMO's close up cam, you can use whatever you like
    Button Interface - Classic
Guess Pitch - Classic 1/4 (This doesn't really matter, I would recommend only using Guess Pitch in hitters counts or when you're trying to protect though)
    Baserunner Interface - Default
Bassrunning Decisions - Auto (I'm not good at baserunning controls, plus I like to let my players play like they would in real life based on their aggression rating)
    Sliding Decisions - Assist
    Runner Window – ON

    PITCHING
    Pitching Difficulty - All-Star
Pitching Interface - Pulse Pitching (Personal prefernce here, I really like the feel pulse pitching gives you)
Pitching View – Broadcast (this is somewhat important, being able to pinpoint your pitches from the catchers view is a bit of an advantage imo)
    Pitching Ball Marker - Fade
    Pitch Callout - Full
    Pitch Confidence - On
    Pitch Delay - Normal
API: On (I like throwing to the catcher most of the time, obviously there are times where we disagree )

    FIELDING
    Throwing Interface - Buttons
    Throwing Meter - On
    Throwing Difficulty - All-Star
    Throwing Decision - On
    Throw Cancelling - Off
Fielding Decision - Auto (I like having my defenders play like they would in real life, you can do whatever here)
    Defensive Shift - Auto
    One Button Dive/Jump - OFF
    Catch Region Indicator - On
    Catch Position Indicator - On
    Tag Up Indicator - On
    Rob HR Indicator - Off
    Fielding View Offense - Medium
    Fielding View Defense - Medium
    Controller Fielding - OFF

    GENERAL
    Strike Zone - OFF
    Hot Zones - Preview
    Swing/Pitch Analysis - On
Balks - Off (If the CPU ever committed a balk I'd leave it on)
Warm Up Pitchers - Off (personal preference)
Umpire Balls and Strikes - Variable (yeah it's frustrating, but adds a lot to the game in my opinion. things are pretty even)
    Umpire Close Plays - On
    Check Swing Appeals - On
    Injuries - On
    Ejections - On
    Vibration - On

    SLIDERS
    Human Contact - 6
    Human Power - 5
    Human Timing -6
    Stride Difficulty - 5
    Human Foul Frequency - 3
    Human Solid Hits - 3
Human Starter Stamina - 6 (your pitchers won't be fully rested for their next start at 5)
Human Reliever Stamina - 2 (really gives you an understanding of what managers go throw with managing their pens)
Human Pitch Control - 4 (more walks, less pin point control)
Human Pitcher Consistency - 4 (I've had CG SHO's..and been hitting the showers in the 2nd inning)
    CPU Contact - 6
    CPU Power - 5
CPU Timing - 6 (I went with 6 to put a little more life in the CPU offense. The CPU WILL punish mistakes, you have to pitch carefully to the money players)
    CPU Foul Frequency - 3
    CPU Solid Hits - 3
    CPU Starter Stamina - 6
    CPU Reliever Stamina - 2
    CPU Pitcher Control - 4
    CPU Pitcher Consistency - 4
CPU Strike Frequency - 3 (Perfect. I've had games where I'll walk 6-8 times..and then I'll go 2 games without one)
    CPU Manager Hook - 5
    CPU Pickoffs - 6
Pitch Speed - 3 (personal preference, go with what you are comfortable with here)
    Fielding Errors - 5
    Throwing Errors - 5
Fielder Run Speed – 0 (balls will fall in in the OF and you'll see gappers that actually bounce a few times get to the wall. Don't worry, I have yet to see a triple with my Redlegs )
Fielder Reaction - 3 (This slider is important. I couldn't decide if 3 was better or 4. With it at 3, bad defenders will show up big time..and cost you hits/runs. The elite defenders it doesn't really effect)
    Fielder Arm Strength - 3
Baserunner Speed - 5 (wasn't seeing hardly any infield hits with it at 4..even with very speedy guys. 4 or 5 is good here)
    Baserunner Steal Ability - 4
    Baserunner Steal Frequency - 6
Wind - 4 (seems perfect to me, wind is a big factor about once a week)
Injury Frequency - 5 (need more testing here, but I've only had one major injury in about 30 games)

These sliders are pretty difficult, so don't get discouraged if you struggle at first. Pitching is challenging. I've taken some ideas from several guys on these forums, til I found something that fit me. These sliders won't be perfect for everyone no doubt, but if you aren't happy with the way your game is playing give these a try. These do favor offense a bit. I'll have some box scores up soon..

These sliders look good and I like your preference for your settings they are exactly the way I like them. I will try a few games with these and give you my feedback, I like playing on hall of fame level so I will give these sliders a crack on hall of fame, in addition to all star. I will keep you posted

      Re: Redsfan's AS Sliders

These sliders are hard for me on All-Star. I'm 5-10 thru 15 games in my current franchise

Batting .258 with a 5.50 ERA. Bullpen has been a disaster.

Can you preview hot zones, with strike zone off?

If not, how would you go about doing so?

I think I might have strike zone on actually. I dunno, I struggle with my control with these sliders. I've walked as many as 6 in games before. Then again I am using the Reds pitching staff.

I've made a couple of personal tweaks, but i love these sliders and are using them for my Blue Jays franchise. They challenge me and make a competitive game

              Re: Redsfan's AS Sliders

These sliders are awesome, pulse pitching has been great for getting a realistic feel, I walk batters but don't feel the "randomness" that I was getting from classic. The only changes I made were to go hof on pitching with control and consistency at 5. For the cpu I dropped control and consistency to 3. Also since I prefer timing hitting I kept contact and timing at 5. I love fielder speed at 0, I tried 2 for a while and just was not seeing enough doubles (especially with slower guys like texeira) and hadn't seen a single triple after 30 games. Recently I've been experimenting with br speed at 4 as I started a new nats franchise and had 3 triples and 7 doubles in 2 games with it at 5. Hopefully at 4 I don't see too many double plays now.

                Re: Redsfan's AS Sliders

Does the cpu actually swing and miss on breaking balls and do you pick up a good amount of strike outs when you're pitching?
