    My modding guide for beginners

This guide is for all of you who have the pc version of MLB2k12 and want to significantly improve thier gaming experience. Many, if not most of you probably wont get to know anything new here but im sure there are some who will find that useful. All of you please feel free to suggest other good mods that i didnt mention here. Im dont taking credit for any of this, all i want to do is to put together some links!

I use to download mods from mvpmodding, there are some guys doing an amazing job! all you need to do is to register in order to be able to do so.

Following is a list of my favourite mods and links to them which i would like to recommend to all of you who are seriously interested into the game.

first of all you need a decent roster, i hate the 2k12 fake names so thats my roster of choice:

BSU-FAN'S NoFakeNames5 ULTIMATE ROSTER Special thanks to DonkeyJote for his help with hundreds of batting stances! Also a big thanks to Kccitystar; his color file was used in this update. Also want to thank Wudl83, DetroitStyle, ScottyBilly, dennisjames71, DonsPa, twnlove, and all of the other un...

since i really dislike generic faces in sports games i love the efford some guys there put into replacing them by real cyberfaces, which you find here:

if you use them with the roster above you dont even need to change the face ID, just download them and put them into the mlb2k12 main folder and itll work!

many ppl here are complaining abt the uniform colours that 2k got wrong, so here is the ultimate solution:

**COLOR CORRECTED UNIFORMS** **UPDATE 5/4** - Various other fixes and tweaks. - New color.txt file - Updated Atlanta Red Alternate ------------ Same as last year, 2K made the colors for these teams too bright or off color. Since the entire uniform can't be changed via my color corrected roster, I...

i think the look of the accessories actually took step forward this year but having real brands is still a totally different thing:

Peña1's 2k12 Accessories Pack There was quite a bit in the global file this year... This mod includes: 5 Batting glovesNIKE Diamond Elite PRO Batting glovesRAWLINGS Workhorse DFS Batting glovesRAWLINGS 1050 T WorkhorseMIZUNO Vintage PRO G3 Louisville Slugger BG26 6 Cleats3n2 CleatsNIKE HUARACHERE...

when it comes to overlays that one is my favourite this year:

=DS= Thanks you for downloading! -------------------------------- The MLB Experience 2K12! This is my first major overlay project which completely overhauls all of the original 2K presentation textures. This is meant to replicate a true to life MLB.Tv/MLB.com presentation and atmosphere. This wil...

real adboards always improve the presentation and atmosphere in any sports game. at least thats how it is for me, if you agree thats smth for you:

huge find from awesome mvpmod user BSU-FAN, mlb2k12 photomod! whats great for NBA2k12 does also work with MLB2k12:

there is the link to the thread where BSU-FAN posted it:
Just like last year I tried testing out "photomods" or shadow mods from NBA2k12 and once again they work perfectly on MLB2k12!!!!! The results are once again AMAZING...bringing a much more realistic rich color to the grass and a much more realistic lighting affect to the game as a whole. The best...

and here the direct download link:
    http://www.moddingway.com/file/18794.html
    all thanks to BSU-FAN!
(please be aware that this will cause a frame drop (20fps for me and others) so if you already near the limit then i suggest not using the latter mod)

i want to add another one, this time its all abt portraits! if you are tired of cyberfaces looking at you amazing mvpmods user raidersbball20 has a solution for you:

if you are using the official 2k roster download this:
    Mega Portrait Pack 2K12:
**UPDATED 9/15/12** Includes ALL MLB Portraits for 9/13/12 2K ROSTER(Its ID numbers) JUST UNCOMPRESS AND OVERWRITE THE FILES IN YOU 2K12 INSTALL DIRECTORY ATTENTION: I do not know who the fake "Harvey Randa" of the Pirates is so he has no portrait. Please message me if you know. You can use ty's ...

this is for you if you are using BSU-Fans NOFAKES ROSTER (recommended! download link above)
    NOFAKES Mega Portrait Pack 2K12:
This is the Mega Portrait Pack for BSU-FAN's latest nofakes roster. The portrait ID numbers correspond to his roster. Do not use this with the 2K roster as it uses different ID numbers. Use my other portrait pack for the 2K roster. All the MLB should have portraits. If I have time I will work on ...

youll need those two tools to install the portrait pack:
    NBA MOD TOOL 0198:

    Total Installer Thingy 4 2K10
This is Total Installer Thingy 4 2K10. It is used to install portraits into MLB 2k10, 2k11, and 2k12. It was created by Kraw and is a wonderful program. Please thank him for all his hard work he has put into modding over the years.

watch raidersbball20 nice toturial video if you arent sure how to do it!

The one thing I'd like to add is to avoid all faces done by scottybilly since they're usually horrible and hard to look at.

This. His are TERRIBLE. Not sure who the hell is giving him 5-star ratings, but they are bad bad bad.

Wuld83 has some decent ones but there are occasional stinkers as well. DetroitStyle's are generally pretty good.

That's just great guys. Others do all the modding while you two sit back on your lazy butts and pass judgement. Hope you didn't exhaust yourselves with all that typing.

I know that not all of my faces are perfect and I surely can live with what you say. But take it from me that guys like you help to kill the modding community even more than it's already killed.
Everybody starts someone out and noone will be perfect from the start. Noone is forced to use the faces, so don't complain. And especially don't do it here since e.g. scottibilly isn't around.
I would suggest to make cyberfaces by yourself though.

i have to say that not all of scottybillies faces are great and yea few are even hard to look at, but i wouldnt generalize it though. the most are pretty acceptable from what i have seen actually. in any case better than the generic ones.

And this is the point. You do not have to like the faces (you do not have to like mine, either) but you have to look into the game and see what ugly generic ones many players got. Then compare it to the faces are available.
Also you have to take into account that not for every player a good picture as a template can be found . Not everyone has a picture with 2500*2000 like Johnny Cueto. You are lucky to find pictures which are 300*300 of players like Javier Lopez or Randy Choate.

I am not Geister but as far as I know the mods can only be done for PC. Consoles won't work.
