Hitting off speed low and away pitches tips anyone

Mainly off speed low and away, should i be trying to go opposite field or is that just for fb's and other hard type pitches? Should I try squaring up the pitch? I'm getting tired of taking off speed or just fouling them off, this year SCEA has done a great job of making me dread low and away. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Worst thing you can do is try to pull a pitch down and away...usually ends up in something weak hit. Going opposite field is definitely your best bet, sadly I can't do it to save my life...so good luck!

Anything that is away you should try to hit to the opposite field. With that said however, off speed pitches are tough because you always tend to be out in front of them. So to go the other way you have to wait on them. I know it's tough to do. That's were batting practice can help you. Those pitches are slower and you can just concentrate on taking them the other way. Good luck those are some tough pitches.

Agreed you absolutely need to go the other way with it. These pitches can destroy you at the plate and frustrate you. My strategy is fairly simple. You are not going to be able to hit every pitch in the pitchers arsenal every game. I will give him certain pitches in order to get results from other ones. If a pithcher has a particularly good change and he is throwing it often enough for strikes I will sit back on all pitches and give up pulling the fast ball in order to rough up that change or slider.

And if those pitches are not being located for strikes often enough I dont even swing at them and I look for fastballs and or whatever else he is throwing for strikes. If he is locating fastballs and changeups both from strikes....well you just gotta tip your hat cause not much you can do at that point lol

If you are having trouble with these this year, you should consider a camera angle change that will help you out. I personally have always liked the offset view. The new catcher angle this year has helped immensely and that's what I'm using.

Pared makes and excellent point. My custom view I slide over to favor the outside of the plate a bit. This way it is far easier for me to pick up pitches away.

I'm using the catcher camera this year. I've taken batting practice since yesterday, i'm raking the changeup low and away with lefties, righties not so much. The new problem however is the slider low/middle away to lefties now. The curveball i've been able to slap up the middle but again with lefties, right handed hitters not so much. I've been working the count alot more as well and have been mashing 3-2 pitches all over, with the occasional HR. The slider low and away is fatal to lefties as is the curveball to any hitter but batting practice def has helped me slap the changeup everywhere, thanks for the tips.
