    Your hitting strategy

I know everyone has their own and I was curious to what every does.

I use guess pitch 1/4 and usually guess to the inside for my guy and fastball. I let every pitch go by unless I have two strikes or it lands in the zone I pick. I find this works pretty well for me. I have trouble picking up pitches sometimes and would rather complete a game than be patient and try to draw walks without guess pitch, especially after work when I'm tired. I find that I can usually draw 3 or more walks per game with my method and get a variety of hits.

    So what is your strategy?

If i think a ball is gunna end up anywhere around the strike zone, imma swing...doesnt matter if it's first pitch or 10 pitches in...i gave up on attempting to draw walks since the pitchers gunna almost always be around the strike zone (This might change if i adjust the sliders)...i don't use guess pitch...see ball, try to hit ball

I always guess pitch fastball.. cuz a 95 mph FB can get on yah QUICK if you aren't expecting it.. other than that i just swing and fail miserably most of the time...

Oh... and breaking pitches at the top of the strikezone are BS imo... pitchers RARELY go for that strikeout curveball up and in IRL.

I've decided what immagunnado until I can recognize a ball is crank up the human contact sliders and only pounce if a pitch looks like a meat ball, otherwise take. I'll probably be doing lots of two-strike hitting, but the sliders should help.

I don't do guess pitch, it's annoying and kind of ugly. The fewer things on the screen the better.

Guess pitch X everytime... 99% of the time thats the pitchers FB. Adjust to anything that isnt the guess pitch. I dont use location, that messes with me too much

I think it is pretty obvious that the pitcher is missing their intended spot in that situation. It would be nice if the umps called some of those balls, since most won't give you a curveball that high as a strike.

Take the first pitch. I'm only going to foul it off or miss it anyway. Why give myself a 100% chance of being down in the count right off the bat while I have a 50% chance of being up in the count right off the bat?

                    Re: Your hitting strategy

Rule 1 - Must wait until the AI throws one strike in the count to swing, unless it is a 2-0 or 3-0 count. If an out is recorded on a swing during a 2-0 or 3-0 count, I lose the power swing on remaining 2-0 and 3-0 counts for that inning unless I draw a walk to regain it.

Rule 2 - Must use Power swing on all 2-0 and 3-0 counts (square button), must use contact swing on 1 and 2 strike counts (X button).

Rule 3 - Only allowed one batter in the 1st, 4th, and 7th inning to swing at the first pitch. (First Pitch Swinging) This allows me not to step to the plate every at bat and have to wait for a strike to be thrown. Rule resets at beginning of 10th inning and same player may not first pitch swing more than once per game. I may not use the same player more than once per game to first pitch swing.

Rule 4 - Only allowed one bunt attempt per inning, whether it is a sacrifice, bunt for hit, or squeeze attempt.

                    Rule 5 -
When hitting in a National League Park, I may only pinch hit for the pitcher after 7 innings of game time and losing or any current Starting Pitcher house rules are met. Same rules apply for any relievers that enter the game.

helps me to be patient will detract from it a little, but overall what I use to work pitch counts and patience at plate

These are great but it seems when taking pitches the CPU hardly throws balls, the starters come after you, the relief guys aren't as bad. What do you recommend?

                              Re: Your hitting strategy

Depends on the player, but I try and make the opposing pitcher work if they can. I don't want to end an inning in under ten pitches if I don't have to. If I'm ahead in the count, I'll almost never bite at corner pitches, or at least not try to. I'm willing to take the ball/strike and wait for a better pitch.

I can get a lot deeper than that, but most of it might pertain to the situation. Furthermore, I just try and do things how I hit in real life. It may not be the best approach for every player, so sometimes I just try and play like the player himself.

                              I don't use Guess Pitch.
