NBA 2k12 possibly going to buy

Ok, so I am thinking about buying this game. I have not bought a basketball game in some years. I still play NBA 2k6 every year. I love it. But from what I have seen of this game it looks great.

I really like the legendary teams. Does anyone know if maybe 2K will release other teams in the future as downloadable content?

Beyond that, would you guys recommend this game?

i would recommend it to anyone. does it have its problems? yes of course, show me a game that doesnt. but its positives out weigh its negatives by a large amount.if your a basketball fan and like b-ball games, then this is the best one on the market right now so yeah get it for sure.

I think this game is worth the buy after the recent patch. It still isn't perfect, and doesn't feel as groundbreaking as 2K11, but to me it is a completely acceptable game and plenty of fun to play. No reason not to try to get a used copy though.

Youvals, fair question, but I loved 2k6. I played numerous seasons so I just kept it and kept playing a dynasty over and over. I have at least 20 seasons if not more now on 2k6. Plus, to me its not worth buying sports games every year, there's rarely enough improvements, graphically and otherwise to justify it. But I understand it to a degree, that's the nature of the beast with sports games since they release one each season. I would rather see a game released every three to four years and just release updates via internet the other years. That way we could see more substantial graphical upgrades and what not from version to version.

Back to 2k12, has anyone heard of any possible DLC that is actually worth looking into? (i.e. new teams?)

I'd suggest to anyone pick-up 2K12. It's not perfect but plays a great game of basketball if your not the herp derp 3's all day or the Lebron force my way to dunk every possession type player lol!

As everyone here can attest NBA 2K12 isn't the perfect game but it's well worth some heavy game-play. The only haters of the game are the x-NBA LIVE tools, not to mention a few who despise the game because it's not perfect but who care about their negativity anyway especially when the good in the game out weighs the bad all day.

Yeah pick it up used of course. But I would advise you if do not have patient and or want to play on hall of fame. Then no, Pro and superstar the game is very balanced but on all-star and hall of fame. Cpu makes almost everything and you get little to no fouls. But 2k6 was amazing since it was first next gen basketball game.

In my opinion I think nba 2k11 is by far the better game purely in terms of gameplay. The controls are so much more responsive and generally the game just feels right. For me 2k12 still feels like a beta, even post-patch. A lot of people here are saying 2k12 isn't the perfect game and they're right, but I tell you 2k11 is pretty much as close to perfection as you can get in the sports genre. But that's just my opinion. If you are planning on getting the game for the xbox then I'd definitely recommend picking up a copy of 2k11 and checking out MKHarsh's 2011-2012 rosters. That way you get the better basketball simulation of 2k11 and the current rosters of 2k12. Perfect.
