How to get your catcher off his knees?

The past couple games I've been getting killed with stolen bases. I am in a franchise with the Phillies so Carlos Ruiz is my catcher. That being said I may have thrown out 1 runner and that was a guy who tried to steal third base. I was pretty good at throwing runners out in 2K10 but in 2K11 not so much. At one point I threw a pitch out as I knew Michael Bourn was going to take off, I made a perfect throw and pre threw but I still didn't get him. I play on All-star/Legend so I understand if they steal bases but at this point its getting to ridiculous. I think my problem is my catcher not getting up from his knees. Please correct me if I'm wrong but do you push up on the left analog stick to make your catcher get up?

I think the catcher throw animation is just another example of 2K's limited animation options for this game. The fact that there is not a quick move to first as an alternate for the very slow pick-off animation illustrates this. As far as steals go, my biggest complaint is the lack of slap/sweep/swipe tags in this game. I hate the slow down dramatic camera used on steals that make this omission of one of baseballs most used functions so noticeable.

Difficulty sliders. Adjust the CPU base running speed until it's just right.

All you have to do is pitch-out and your catcher will automatically stand up and you'll have a better chance of throwing out the runner...most recent runner I've caught stealing was Raji Davis of the Toronto Blue Jays in a 2 out situation in the 9th my catcher called for a off speed pitch (usually when the CPU tries to steal) and I pitched out and threw Davis out trying to steal and won the game
