Crash To Desktop

I'm having problems getting the Steam version to run. I keep crashing to the desktop before the game even starts. NBA 2k11 ran great without any issues on this PC (and still does) but I can't even get to the first splash screen on 2k12. Is anyone else having the same issue at all?

I had this issue as well. I would try to start up and it went to a black screen for about 2 seconds and back to the desktop I went. After the 5th or 6th trying I was able to get it started. Not sure what the problem is...

I have had 1 C2D so far, after that I've just started deleting the Player1.USR file once in a while, like in 2K11, and that seems to work for me.

However, if you're crashing before you've even played any games, that'd probably be a different problem.

2.2 ghz processor

768 ram

2k11 runs perfectly

This just started happening to me on 2k11, got a brand new video card and everything has been great until tonight. Doing the Same thing....right during the video before you go into the arena...any ideas?

Ok it just seems to be so far when I play bulls @ Knicks right during the little spot before the game shows the starting lineups

Yep I'm having exactly the same issue. I boot it up and it goes to the black screen then immediately drops back out to windows with an error message. On a brand new Dell XPS 17 with an Nvidia GT555m and 8g of ram. To say its frustrating would be an understatement.

Just happened to me a few times even in My Player mode, it's definitely the graphics card...going to purchase a ATi Radeon 6770 tomorrow

any ideas as why this would just happen with games @ NY?

It's just during the time before it pans through the arena like when it's showing the teams coming off the bus

Hell Ronnie, I would like to report a crash please send it to patching team.

My specs:

Athlon 2.0 Ghz
AS Rock
Geforce 7300 GT
768 Ram

2k11 was running perfectly but after patch, as It was with 2k10 I think it's the same issue every year, I want to make sure patching team addresses it so I can be sure to play the game that I bought.

After starting the game, there is running process 2k12.exe in the background which reserves 12 820 kb of memory but no game is showing and running. So please address it and reply me with simply ok so I can be sure that I will play the game soon.

Do you know any probable patch date?

So far I've had it crash to the desktop once, when I was in the online area for a teamup game.
