Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I'll be playing offline association mode as my Miami Heat.
I'm going to release all of the people who should have been free agents this year, and assign them to the team I think they will sign with. All changes would have to be very logical though, for example players like Mario Chalmers, Marc Gasol, and Tyson Chandler would all go back to their respective teams, while people like Tayshaun Prince, Samuel Dalembert, and Andrei Kirilenko are almost assured to switch teams.
I'll update here Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, as I will get the game on Tuesday and probably have it done within a few hours, but might be playing this too much to actually come here and update, lol.
Can't wait for Tuesday!Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Is there anyway to have a 2 player Online Association?
In years past you had to have 4 users at least. Can someone check to see if you can do OA with 2 different owners (2 user controlled teams)?
Not sure why they limited it to 4, but that's the way we want to do it.
Anyone?Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I always run with the Bulls. I'll be putting twist on them though. My starting five is:
C Noah
PF Rodman
SF Pippen
SG Jordan
PG Rose
Kerr, Kukoc, Deng and possibly Simpkins will be coming off the bench. I cheat a little and edit contracts so that I'm not over the cap. I'll probably control the Hornets too and put Gill and Mourning on their.Comment

Im looking to play with a team that is in rebuild mode. So Im really thinking the Suns because they have some old vets that I'd want to move for younger talent.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Started mine with the Heat yesterday and I did as I said I would and released people who would have been free agents this off-season. From there I picked up Dalembert for under $2 million and Grant Hill for just over $3 million, then re-signed Mike Bibby, Juwan Howard, and James Jones, each for the minimum, to make it a 14-man team for me. Team looks like this now:
PG: Mario Chalmers/Mike Bibby
SG: Dwyane Wade/Mike Miller
SF: LeBron James/Grant Hill/James Jones
PF: Chris Bosh/Udonis Haslem/Juwan Howard
C: Samuel Dalembert/Joel Anthony
Inactive:
PG: Eddie House
C: Dexter Pittman
The team ran great in the first half of my first game, as I came out with a single-digit lead, but overall the offense and defense was good, and it being myself, the Heat, against the Knicks, it was a fast-paced game. Entered the second half and everything seemed to fall apart, with LeBron and Bosh really struggling in the third quarter.
I go into the fourth down by just under double-digits (I forget exactly how much I was down by). For half the quarter, the Knicks just seemed in control. Then Dwyane Wade fouled out, and I thought it was over. I was way off.
I had to be more aggressive with LeBron since Wade went out, so the first play I put LeBron in the post and he bullies his way to the rim for an easy two points. Next play I get an open three and he knocks that down. Same for the next play. Later on, down 115-110 and with under a minute left Chris Bosh hits an open jumper. They take a quick, yet wide open shot and somehow miss it. I take it to the other end and nail a tough three with LeBron, though he did have a bit of space, just not a whole lot.
Now it's a tie game at 115-115. They let the clock wind down a little bit and got a seemingly good luck at the rim, before Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem smother him (not sure who it was) and forced him to miss an incredibly difficult shot.
I inbound to LeBron with 8 or 9 seconds left to go, he sprints to the other end, takes a second or two, then nails a three-pointer in Carmelo's face. With only 1.3 seconds left and no timeouts, the Knicks just in-bounded the ball to Billups and he heaved a shot from nearly full-court and missed.
So, all-in-all, LeBron took over in the fourth with 19 points in that quarter alone, and the Heat (me) won 118-115 over the Knicks.
Next game I beat the Magic by a hefty margin, 16, as I constantly smothered Howard and lived with giving up a three-pointer now and then.
This game is fantastic and so very smooth compared to last year's game. Easily the best sports game of all-time (no disrespect to The Show) and probably the game of the year.Comment

I'll be rolling with the Wizards. Nice young talent and I love their new colors. May trade Rashard Lewis. I'll see how he goes in the first couple of games.Comment
