Starting a dynasty ...need team choices

I want a unique team, not too powerful or too hard to build. Middle of the road is nice. Thanks.

well if you want to try to put yourself in a good recruiting state, you could go baylor, cal, texas tech, USF, SDST, etc.

of those i'd go USF or baylor.

Re: Starting a dynasty ...need team choices

I'm gonna post something that I posted in a thread from a long time ago

"Go with Tulane

Even though they're a one star program in CUSA, they have the potential for a LOT of upside.

There's usually good talent coming out of Louisiana, and you can easily pipeline Texas.

Solid rivalry against LSU already.

They play in the Super Dome (~80,000), so you can have a loud stadium if you keep up the good work.

Their jersey selection isn't THAT boring.

You can pretty much design the program from the ground up because all of the players are kind of crappy. If you want to run the wishbone, you can start from scratch recruiting that. If you want to run the 3-3-5, you can start from scratch with that. etc.

If you continue the good work you can get invited to the SEC, creating a more challenging future.

The best thing is, you'll know that YOU are the reason the team won its national championship(s) in the future because you had to sit through all the crappy years and recruit your own talent and build your own schemes.

It's worth it.

Winning against Bama with a team like Florida, OSU, Texas, OU, etc is not anywhere near as rewarding as the feeling that you get when you beat a big team with a small-time program.
EVERY game that you play with Tulane is a struggle. Every possession is incredibly important. Every sub makes the difference. Every play-call determines the outcome. It's great."

I sort of enjoy playing as Oklahoma State because they have an abundance of cool uniforms...not sure if you'd consider them too powerful or not.

Re: Starting a dynasty ...need team choices

I always pick a team who has a new coach so it seems realistic. Here's a list of the coaching changes for this season.

Coaching Changes For 2011 Season
Team Out In
Arkansas State Steve Roberts Hugh Freeze
Ball State Stan Parrish Pete Lembo
Colorado Dan Hawkins Jon Embree
Connecticut Randy Edsall Paul Pasqualoni
Florida Urban Meyer Will Muschamp
Indiana Bill Lynch Kevin Wilson
Kent State Doug Martin Darrell Hazell
Louisiana-Lafayette Rickey Bustle Mark Hudspeth
Maryland Ralph Friedgen Randy Edsall
Miami (Fla.) Randy Shannon (i) Jeff Stoutland (0-1)
Al Golden
Miami (O.) Michael Haywood (i) Lance Guidry (1-0)
Don Treadwell
Michigan Rich Rodriguez Brady Hoke
Minnesota Tim Brewster Jerry Kill
North Carolina Butch Davis (i) Everett Withers
North Texas Todd Dodge Dan McCarney
Northern Illinois Jerry Kill (i) Tom Matukewicz (1-0)
Dave Doeren
Ohio State Jim Tressel (i) Luke Fickell
#-Pittsburgh Dave Wannstedt
Michael Haywood
Michael Haywood
(i) Phil Bennett (1-0)
Todd Graham
San Diego St. Brady Hoke Rocky Long
Stanford Jim Harbaugh David Shaw
Temple Al Golden Steve Addazio
Tulsa Todd Graham Bill Blankenship
Vanderbilt Robbie Caldwell James Franklin
West Virginia Bill Stewart Dana Holgorsen

Currently playing as Indiana, got upsets over OSU and Iowa in the first 2 years. I recruited a juco qb who is now a 91 overall senior for the 3rd season. I set up a rivalry with ND and got my first upset against them this year, I also beat #5 PSU. Only because senior stars Bolden and Redd went down in the first quarter.

OkSU is probably too powerful, a similar more realistic team could be WVU.

Clemson is pretty fun. They have a young team, their stadium is cool and the school ratings are pretty good too.
