CPU signing recruits for me despite...

having all CPU recruiting turned OFF. Is there a reason for this? And is there a way to fix it?

I'm eight seasons deep into a sim-only dynasty and every year, after week five of off-season recruiting, I sign an additional 7-10 recruits I never recruited or offered a scholarship. Like this past off-season, for instance, the CPU signed 4-5 additional WR and 4-5 additional HB despite me having plenty of depth at both positions.

I'm five years into another dynasty and haven't had this problem.

do you use up all your recruiting time available each week?

maybe a dumb question but you have all of the CPU recruiting assistance switches OFF correct?

even if you have "recruiting" off, there is another switch that allows CPU to schedule visits and offer scholarships.

Yeah, I've noticed this happening even with all recruiting assistance turned off and using all of your time. You just have to cut them. I tell myself they are "invited walk-ons" and some of them just don't cut it. Ha

Yeah, I have everything turned off...scholarship offer, recruiting board assistance, and visiting assistance. That's why I'm confused.

This is happening in off-season recruiting. On my recruiting board every preseason, I only put on as many recruits as I have seniors on roster. So, if I have 14 seniors in a given season, I only put 14 recruits on my board and work on them. By the off-season I usually have as many recruits as I need in order to cover the graduates. If I, say, lose three people early to the NFL or transferring, then I recruit that many during off-season recruiting. I almost ALWAYS have all of my recruiting done before the final week of off-season recruiting, so I sim ahead to signing day, but end up getting 5-7 more recruits signed that I never recruited nor offered.
