How does Colin Moriarty have a job? He just skimmed through everything in the game. The job Colin did in this review is no surprise considering his politics.

Re: IGN Review - What a Joke!
correct me if i'm wrong but didn't ign say that they were going to wait to post their review because they wanted to test out the online features. where in this review does the author even talk about multiplayer?
one of the most unhelpful reviews i have ever read. it might as well have been a press release from ea for all the insight it provided.
check out kuklas korner for a good in depth review of most game modes. -

Re: IGN Review - What a Joke!
My thoughts on this:
"Penalties are too rare, but when called, the refs have a single-minded obsession with interference" --- Very true. I hardly see any other calls.
"The benches are even populated by the actual players who go on and off the ice during the course of a game, and not just placeholders." --- Nice, but if you look at the players who sit on the bench before a face off, you will see those SAME players ON THE ICE for the face off. Cutscene doesn't match. Not a gamebreaker, but EA marketed the presentation this year like crazy. oops.
"And "signature traits" have been introduced, trying to tie the known tendencies of players to their digital personas. If a player is known for amazingly-accurate one-timers or has the ability to set amazing screens as a defenseman launches a puck into traffic, you'll see those kinds of maneuvers mirrored in NHL 12." --- I guess we are all trying to figure out these signature traits. I'm still waiting to see what exactly they are for what player.
"Pucks barely ever leave the ice surface and fly into the crowd or the benches for a stoppage." --- Hmmm...I had quite a few pucks fly into the crowd.
Overall, I do agree. This review sounds like someone from EA wrote the review and handed it to IGN. Knowing EA, I wouldn't doubt this.Comment
