Is there any other way for a player's rating to improve in dynasty other than through off-season training? I kinda want to know if a player will progress faster by starting and playing every down in a season, than if a player sits on the bench all season.

There is some in-season progression. The only rating I have seen increase is the AWR rating which goes up a point or two. My starting QB has increased one point in his overall, which I don't put a lot of value on, after week 8. He has played about 90% of the snaps while only missing time due to injury and getting pulled in a big week one win. I have seen some other starts increase a point in AWR but no increase in other ratings that I have noticed.
