Directional pad controls???

Can you no longer play the game with the directional pad? I have never been good with the analog stick, why would they eliminate that play option, I can't be the only person in the county who prefers to use the directional controls...

I use the analog stick, but the in-game manual indicates that you can use the d-pad to move your player. It's strange that you can't. You're not the only person to mention this.

The only thing d-pad controls is motioning, and only on offense. Very, very strange they took this out.

Man, I hope they come up with a patch, or a software wpdate to fix this, or I am just not going to play the game! I hate using the anolog stick!

No offense, but it's not 1990 any more. The players already move unrealistically, allowing them to only move right or up or whatever just seems worse then being able to give them angles with the analog sticks.

Wow. So you think the d-pad only moves you up, down, left and right? We've got a real genius on our hands here.

Anyways. I too exclusively used the d-pad and was disappointed they took it out. I've gotten used to the analog at this point, but it's still a little annoying.

you can't use the d-pad anymore because how fast the layers run is determined by how hard you press the analog stick, and you can't replicate that with the d-pad.

Moving with the d-pad is one-dimensional, which is why it is great for menus. Moving with the analog stick gives you more angles and is smoother than using a d-pad to press multiple buttons that only gives you 4-8 angles and you lose pressure sensitivity.

R2 works just fine for me with speed... To each his own, I guess I am just 1990. They had way better music back then anyhow, and all the sports were better, so I guess I am cool with that.lol. What I just dont get, is why alienate any of you customers? I am sure there are thousands if not millions of people who would rather play NCAA/MADDEN with the directional control. P.S. I get the same angles and moves with it, honestly I fell that they are way way more controled.

At this point in time, they've alienated just about everyone: see roster glitch thread that several of us have been researching all night. Oh the joys of EA sports. If it's in the game... it's broken haha.

Some body out there has to use the directional pad to control the players besides me... Has anyone heard if they are going to include this in the patch fix???

Seeing as though there has been no news of any patch, how could anyone answer that? You have the same access to the info everyone else does on the site. No need to bump.

Yeah, the change to analog controls happened a long time ago, you guys are going to have to adapt.
