    SET #1 - SLIDERS WITHOUT PATCH / TITLE UPDATE #2

    MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th @ 12:10 P.M.

    Realize that you'll deal with the occasional bonehead DB play, linebackers are prone to jump plays, and the delay of the LB's & DB's when the QB scrambles is there, but these are about as good as we'll get. NOTE the speed threshold is now 85. OFFLINE ONLY - you'll need to download the patch to get roster updates and teambuilder teams, but go into your 360 hard drive memory and delete the title update #2 from within your game saves (clearing the cache will NOT get rid of the patch).

    One more note: I let the cpu pick the plays for me - meaning: I use the three in the window and ONLY pick one of the three. This stops ME from picking the same plays repeatedly, but still allows me options.

    Also, I use the defensive line on defense and apply the "no switch" on passes until the pass has been completed. I will deviate from this sometimes, but not much. But these are the only two base rules I personally use.

      Been messing with PM Varsity also.. We are on the same page, but I would lower HUM KO Power to about 25 or you will get no returns at all

          you are suggesting lowering user kickoff power to 40? (meaning I'm lowering it when I kickoff). And THANKS for your feedback! I LOVE the varsity level and believe we can get a nice set developed!

            Big fan of the MLB 2K sliders man! Out of curiosity, what's the reason behind starting on Varsity and zeroing lots of stuff out instead of starting at All American and keeping things closer to default? I'm gonna give these a try when I get home and post results.

              We had 8 sacks they had 3. I will test again with another team and see if the rushing yards pick up.

                I agree with your play style 100% ! Been playing like this for years !

                Our sliders are alot different though...

                I take into account that the Varsity setting already increases the Human and decreases the Cpu ratings right from the start.

                Basically if all settings are stock 50/50...the Human has hidden plus's, and the CPU has hidden minus's.

                To account for that right off the top, I make my base starting settings 40 Human / 60 Cpu.

                No Human setting will go over 40, and no Cpu setting will go under 60.

                I too play 8 minutes qtrs.....but I super sim the 3rd qtr of every game !
                This gets my Oline some pancakes, and really balances out the game stats IMO.

                Now getting a close 14-9 game is cool, but a game of Louisville vs USF should be more like 34-28

                  I am a fan also a fan of your MLB roster and as I haven't played with your sliders, and have been playing on AA but the roughing the QB penalties I always get at the worst time and if any of my guys barley even make contact with the QB at all he falls down and I get a penalty, and I have my roughing the passer at 55

                  But I am inclined to try your because of your MLB sliders

                    Game won't provide enough challenge at the varsity level with those numbers. guess we all have different approaches, but i can't abide by those guidelines personally.

                      Never mind just played a great game between Penn state and purdue and it was wonderful I always love your sliders not too many roughing the passer penalties either and it was a great challenge I didn't get to finish but I was up 20-10 at the end of the third quarter

                        Well now your response makes no sense ?! You are saying it would not provide you with enough challenge at the varsity level with those numbers...

                        But what I said basically said (I did not give exact settings)...

                        NO Human settings over 40, and NO CPU settings under 60....
                        IS harder than what you have listed as your settings ??

                        You have many Human settings over 40

                        You have many CPU settings under 60

                        ??? .... maybe you thought I meant 40/60 is the setting ? ?

                          Mich 38(Me) ND 23

                          1st downs 17-8
                          Total Offense 400-315
                          Rushing Comb- 195-47
                          Passing-205-268
                          Total Yards 618-316( Stonum had like 200+ Return yards)
                          TOP- 20:10-11:50

                          *Some Player stats

                          Denard- 8-15 145 Yds and 2 TD's
                          Vincent Smith 18 Car 111 Yards rushing 1 TD
                          Michael Shaw- 14 Carries 78 Yards

                          Dayne Crist- 19-28 268 yards and 1 TD.


                          *good sliders overall but there were a lot of penalties and rushing was a little bit easy at times.

                            Let me clarify something...

                            Last year the sliders that Playmakers came up with were outstanding. I used many of those concepts as a base for this year. Yes, many of them went against your (Yukon) concepts. We had hundreds and hundreds of game testing on them, so they weren't thrown together without knowledge.

                            Having said that, I am seeing some differences this year that weren't present last year. It's obvious that the CPU is going to need more help this year because they can't seem to get any consistency.

                            Can I ask a favor, Yukon? We don't know each other, but let's stop with the attitude and work together... When you walk into another thread for sliders and start throwing your concepts around it doesn't sit well. Now, putting that behind I want to get some feedback and see what does work. So I don't need the "you can never do this..." stuff but rather specific numbers on what works.

                            I can see some issues developing today...

                            I just played cincinnati (cpu) at tennessee (me). I won 40-14.

                            I held the cpu to 25 carries and -58 yards rushing.
                            I held the cpu to 6-17 passing for 119 yards...and 74 of those yards came on one play alone, so that left 45 yards on the other 5 completions.
                            I had 7 user sacks to cpu's 2


                            It is now obvious that last year's base is not going to work on some things.

                            NEGATIVES:
                            - user punter not strong enough
                            - not enough fumbles
                            - no interceptions as of yet
                            - cpu qb completion % too low, and not enough time in the pocket
                            - cpu rushing game needs strengthened

                            There may be more...I'm willing to tear into my own sliders and it may be that Varsity level is going to take a LOT of tweaking to get correct. Back to the drawing board on some things.

                              Tips

                              Last year remember before the patch there was no ROBO QB on varsity level

                              We only had to adjust the CPU QBA and Pass Coverage because of the patch making the CPU QB's over powered

                              If i remember correctly the original sliders before the patch had CPU QBA 55-60 i'll have to go back to the old thread and look it up

                              I also think Pass Coverage was something like 40 or 45 for Human

                              I can offer suggestions i just don't want to the work this year LOL!
