I have been tracking this topic on gamefaqs and some one posted this today:

I emailed EA and was told the Winnipeg Jets will be in the game, but that due to deadlines the jerseys, rink, and logos will all be available as "add on content" available before the season begins. that doesnt make them sound too confident that it will DEFINITELY be before the season. Better not hold up my franchise!

I guess this will be like the OKC Thunder in their first NBA Live game. They were seattle until you downloaded the free add on to make them the thunder.

Nothing EA can really do. We go through this all the time with 3rd jerseys and such. If it isn't out before the game is gold, they can't include it.

The arena is already in the game. All were waiting on now is the jerseys.

They should be on disc with the old school jets jerseys and then have the new jerseys unlockable with codes like buffalo were last year.

I actually don't think it is in the game. They have the Manitoba Moose ice with the MTS Centre logo, but those AHL arenas are generic and used throughout the AHL teams in the game because they did not develop each AHL teams building. Therefore the MTS Centre building is not in the game. I'm pretty sure what the NHL team does is make all of the ices for the teams and then just chooses one of their generic AHL arenas for the teams. The ice they made for the team is then placed into the building and is made the home arena for the team.

If I'm not mistaken the only true to life arenas in the game are the NHL teams. Some of the generic ones may be based off of real life arenas but teams in the other leagues in the game do not have their real life arenas like the NHL teams do.

Please correct me if I am wrong though.

Correct, the AHL/Junior arenas are not officially licensed arenas but are inspired in design by Ricoh Coliseum.

Just like the Nordiques were in NHL '96 instead of the Avalanche, even though the franchise announced the move to Colorado during the summer of 1995.

99 per cent sure it will be. The Winnipeg Jets are icing in the 11-12 season and it would not be good PR to have them as a "paid extra" in a game that is the console representation of the entire NHL 12 experience.

Having the Jets in there ASAP isn't a Tiger Woods Golf "dlc course" scenario; it's not a desirable extra. It's pretty vital. Providing the new jerseys and logo don't stink out the joint, I'd like to undertake a Be A GM with them.

I sure agree, Therion. I just can't see them charging extra for the Jets sweaters. That'd be pretty ridiculous if they did that.

I'm also giving some thought to going with the Jets as my GM team. That alone I think would spice up GM mode for me.

EA has charged gamers for really unusual things in the past that's why I voiced my concern. I really hope we get more classic jerseys though.

EA is never one to pass up an opportunity to make some money, but they are far too business savvy to charge for something that would initiate such a serious blowback, at least in my opinion. That doesn't just affect Jets fans, but all players who want a realistic experience.

There's no way it won't be free.

EA has made bad decisions in the past, but they won't make us pay for something necessary like that.

And for comparison's sake they never made us pay to download the Oklahoma City Thunder DLC for NBA Live when they were first brought into the league.
