I don't wear them excessively baggy, but they're baggier than skinny jeans.

Skinny jeans look terrible but so do baggy ones. I shoot for loose fit ones which seem to be in the middle.

Mine have to fit just right.

No skinny and not really baggy... just something comfortable.

Is normal a choice? I don't care what people wear, but I don't think I could sacrifice my man parts being crushed all day just to try and look a part while wearing skinny jeans.

Yep. And they don't feel right for a few wears after you buy them. Also, unless there is visible dirt or staining on them, I wear jeans intermittently for a month before they get washed. Not every day, but like 5 times per pair. They don't feel right out of the wash.

I don't think its that skinny jeans look terrible so much as they don't look comfortable. I also wear loose fit which I would say are closer to the baggier end of the spectrum.
