    Freezes

I know, **** happens, and I can deal with the occasional freeze while on menus, but the amout of gameplay freezes is ****ing insane.

This isn't the first, nor the second, but the third time the game has frozen in the bottom of the 9th. Overall, I must have had 10-12 freezes since I got the game.

    How does this happen?

Try setting your presentation setting to "hurry up" and this should reduce
    the lock ups.

Mine keeps freezing trying to start ' My Player' just sits with a black screen while the 'Initializing My Player' reads at the bottom of the screen. My xbox doesnt lock up that seems to be fine. Very bloody frustrating.

        Re: Freezes

I just had a freeze earlier this evening during a spring training game against the Astros while it was going to a replay at the end of my half of the second inning. So what I did was change the presentation settings to 2K10 and turned replays off. Hopefully that will help.

Are you guys using created rosters?
I was using default rosters with no problems for a long time with no freezes.
I then downloaded one of the created rosters with named minor leaguers and I couldnt get a game in without a freeze.
I then deleted the roster and have been using default rosters again without any problems.

I was playing for a few days without the release day patch and I had multiple freezes. Since I managed to hook up my 360 to Live and get the update, I've had none. I'm also using the latest MLB Today rosters.

Same deal with me. My default roster works fine. But the edited roster I've been working on will cause the game the crash at times. I've checked and rechecked the teams I've edited to make sure the correct number of players are on each team. Yet another bug 2K is infamous for, looks like.

I have also had it with the ****ing freezes! I really enjoyed 2K10 and with my preferred japanese baseball game delayed i decided to give 2K11 a chance but the freezes are killing the game for me. i want to keep on playing it but my game session ends in a freeze EVERY TIME. PS3, using the default roster, with the day 1 patch, in franchise mode, i have had the game freeze BEFORE the game, AFTER the game, and in the franchse menus while looking at my roster. I just hate it when I keep losing progress with freezes at the end of a game so all the player stats i accumulated are gone. there are already 162 games in a season so i dont want to play the same day twice so i just simulate the crashed game. really annoying. would it kill these people to do some sort of bug tests?

and the guy above mentioned 2K are famuos for these bugs and i have to agree. NBA 2k11 was the same mess. the 2 weeks before the all star break, every game in season mode will freeze after the 1st quarter and the only way is to sim past all of them. thats just sad.

                  Re: Freezes

That game is about to get back in his box and to the store because of this.

In My Player, the game frozed for the 5th time after I scored a run. When the Lookouts logo appears, games stuck and there's nothing to do.

Add to this the 2 times it freeze while ending the game and the other one while the other team scored, and you got around 10 freezed games in about 50 games I played.

                  I'm about to lose patience!

Default rosters here too, and no problems.

Also...if you haven't done this people and are experiencing freezes, install the damn game to your hard drive.

                      Re: Freezes

Installing the game to the hard drive makes no difference. I install all my games to the HD. I'm using 2k rosters too. A lot of the freezing occurs when the 2k logo appears in between innings when the presentation game flow is set to realism. Trust me, I've done a ton of experimenting with the different scenarios. I haven't had any freezing in MLB Today games, but in franchise, it's usually in the second or third game I might play in a row (memory leak? doubt it, but it's a thought). The 2K logo usually pops up in the 2, 4, 6, 8 innings either in the middle or end of the inning. That's where 100% of my freezing has happened.
Changing the game flow to hurry up is the only fix I've found that works. I have had zero freezing in hurry up games. Kind of sucks because I like the presentation, but it makes the game playable. Again, I've only experienced the freezes in franchise, using 2K's updated rosters, no custom rosters at all. I'm still messing around with different work arounds, but this is all I've found so far. (This is on the 360 just for information sake).

I have been playing a game, then simming a game, and have not had a freeze in-game.

The one freeze I did have was when the game was loading, before getting to the option to hit start to edit lineups.

Thought maybe installing the game could help some.

Too often people just complain, and don't really provide any information as to maybe where their issue is coming from.

That's cool. I actually downloaded the newest roster update just to see if that would make a difference. The other thing I'm trying is not pounding the A button at the end of an inning because that maybe cause the 2K logo freezes too. I'm just not positive. I do know the hurry up game flow fixes the issue. But I've also played two games in a row using realism game flow. But they weren't back to back, which has cause many lockups for me.
I've also tried switching the game flow during a game and that hasn't resulted in a freeze either. I just like the presentation and the batter walkups, so I'd prefer playing with the game flow on realism. But worse comes to worse, I just want to play the game. I'm hoping this will be included in the patch, but it may be too hit and miss to nail down.

I've started another My Player with default roster. Also put the replays off.

I've been freezing 4 times while finishing 5. Always when I'm on the sim page, waiting for my next action.

The only thing that could change something is the "Real Time" play, but I could this do something when it's freezing while simming?

As far I was happy with the work in NBA 2K11, I have to say that so far, MLB 2K11 is my first baseball buy from 2K and probably my last.

I just began getting freezes after around 30 games in my franchise. Both times it happened early, first and second inning. I tried "Hurry Up" but that takes away a great part of the fun in this game, so I'm going with "Real Time."

I have the game installed to hard drive on 360 and default roster.
