Can't make a 3 with Korver...

I'm playing on All star sim and I'm running with the bulls. Korver, arguably one of the best shooters in the league, I can't make a 3 with him at all. Even wide open ones.

I am using True FG% shooting. So.....my shot release should not matter at all right? True FG% is based solely on ratings....and Korver has a 95 three pt rating.

Thoughts?

When playing on Sim settings, up the 3PT slider for you and CPU back to 50..

Adjust only the 3PT slider?

Also...does making this adjustment officially change your slider set to custom?

Yeah it does. I struggle shooting with Korver online because of the slight lag....sometimes I dont get a perfect release from him. But sometimes I do and he still misses.

Re fg% is terrible to be honest, change it back to shotstick timing and put the 3 slider to 50 for both.

Or you could just hit a few layups with him to get him hot, then try to do a 3. Miss to many shots and your player will go cold.

Really? What makes it terrible? I've always wondered which way I should go with.

If I'm not mistaken, these are the differences between the two?.......

Shotstick timing- your shotstick timing/release + real fg% (ratings)

True FG %-shot is based solely on ratings. Shot release(no matter how good or bad it is) does not matter.

The Bulls have some nice SF plays that utilize double baseline screens to get him open.

The plays start with a high 4 pick and the PG can drive (if the lane is open) or drive and kick to a curling SF.

Korver has a higher spot-up rating that shoot-off-dribble rating so I put him in positions to not put the ball on the floor.

I went 5 - 7 with him and 2 - 4 in back-to-back games.

It can be done...and I also changed his shot to P .Pierce's since it is slightly more accurate of his quick release....

SOmetiems guys will be cold, not in there hot spot, so many factors.

I love Real FG%. So far so good for me and yes bump up your 3PT as well as the CPU (which on Sim are both at 45 I believe). I found 3PT at 55 for both hum and cpu giving me very nice realisitc numbers thus far.

I stay away from the True FG% setting. Never quite liked it.

I find that basing strategy on Close-Mid-3pt ratings works better for me.

Its ratings based so don't worry about the release although i still try to release at the top of the shot (good practice if you ever decide to play online or switch back). Where you are on the floor still matters. Go into practice mode and see which areas of the three point land he is best at. And when your playing if the bars are blue, it means he is cold and will shoot below his ratings from that spot as well. Of course you can raise the 3 point shooting slider if you whole team is struggling.
