Nba 2k11 disc error??

i play it for a few minutes like 30-40 mins then all of a suddent i get a message that says "disc error clean disc with a soft cloth".

i dont understand why, the game is brand new with no scratchs..i already installed it to my harddrive..and deleted it and re-install it.

any ideas? please this is sooo stupid! it brings me to dashboard while playin my myplayer and jordan challenges without me saving!!

Does it do it with any other games?

If it doesn't, then I'd try returning it to the store for a different copy. Might be the disc.

What?!?! you can install your game to your harddrive so that means u wont need the disc anymore???? wth?..... cant people steal games like that???

Yup, needs a new disc drive. Been there five times in the last 3 years. I finally just bought the brand new 360 for 2K11 because I just couldn't go down the refurbished console road again. I had disc drives burning out giving me that error even 3 weeks after receiving a refurb back from Microsoft.

At first only a certain mode in a certain game will do the error. Then a couple weeks later another point in the game will cause it. And then another game will do it. Certain parts of the game has the lens working extra hard, bouncing back and forth gathering data from all over different parts of the disc, and the lens motor starts to wear and can't keep up, triggering that error. MS has tried to get developers to organize the data more efficiently on the discs so the disc drives aren't put under so much stress. MS is on their 5th or 6th model drive at this point.

You still need the disc to run it. Installing it to the hard drive just means it will load faster and run smoother.

why doesnt the ps3 do that? or does the ps3 not need to do that?
