Re: Are There Copies Out There?
pretty sure you could have found it last week at a few mom and pop stores. However, since they made this announcement, they probably called every chain this morning or over the weekend or friday or something and asked for it back.#dairyfree -
Re: Are There Copies Out There?
Considering people have gotten their hands on 2k I'm surprised no one has a copy of Elite...that makes me think they never got shipped to retailers which means someone knew this delay was going to happen way before today...it's clear the devs didn't know though...Comment

Re: Are There Copies Out There?
Yeah, EA notoriously waits until week of release to ship. sometimes within 4-5 days! This is why I am asking. I know they are packaged, sitting somewhere, but whether or not someone can get to them is another story.Comment

All the copies are buried in New Mexico next to copies of the E.T. game.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Are There Copies Out There?
they wanted until IGN got the game then got word it wasn't going to be good. I bet something like that happened, usually after release parties, they give games to reviewers. They got their hands on it and was not pleased.
what did WTF said? we are not their market? the metacritic score of 90 was..
and it wasn't going to happen this year, so they scrapped#dairyfreeComment

Re: Are There Copies Out There?
ReAnimator mentioned the other day also that he'd hardly ever played a game of USER v CPU either.....................did anyone even play the game v the CPU? Maybe that's why they are so shocked by all the negative feedback...they've been enjoying it v each other, whilst the DEMO dumped all of us right in against a CPU doing weird / stupid / crazy stuff non stop.
Surely someone there had the responsibility to sit down and play the CPU AI non stop for weeks looking for flaws?
Weird stuff.Comment

Add me to the confused...how does a dev not have a copy of the game?

They are manufactured somewhere, and shipped off to the retail outlets.
We usually don't get our free copy until well after the ship date.
Sometimes the company store gets the games on release day, sometimes they get them a week late.
But we have to pay to get them. Can't just walk in and take one.
Since these are being pulled from retail, they will never make it to the EA store.
It's funny how I take this as a given but everyone pictures something different.
Well, there ya go.Comment

Damm...that's crazy stuff man. EA must be super tight if they don't even give you guys a few free copies for family and friends.
Can you imagine U2 or AC/DC having to buy copies of their own CDs from the rec company? LOL.Comment

I have a build of the game I can play any time I want, but the retail discs aren't just lying around.

Its like "hey, you took a ton of time to hand-build a thousand of these cars, but sorry.. you're gonna have to wait, and you might have to pay for it... yeeaaa".Comment
