Ha, never even heard of them before and minus big points for not even mentioning the new locomotion engine.

i agree.. but then again.. OS's review of Backbreaker ripped it to shreds, and did not even mention the real time physics in the game..

I understand what you are saying, but that has nothing do to with this impression.

well, what i took from this preview is that locomotion obviously did not even make enough of an impact on him to even mention it..

and while i really don't see anything even wrong with this preview.. (i think he is pretty fair if you ask me) , its just a preview man.. who cares what this guy thinks

its a preview, not a review

I agree, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here, either.

What I took from the impression was they didn't even know that locomotion was a key addition and they weren't looking for it.

            We both could be right.

OS should have removed that BB review. It was the worst review I have ever read on the site from the writing quality, to the content, to the analysis. Didn't do justice to the game or OS.com.

The reviewier miss locomotion, but called out the new kicking mechanism as being strange (which I agree). It's definitely a reversion to an older, outdated mechanism. His logic for not needing a change is a little lacking 'which is strange considering the right analog stick controls were working just fine.'

                  Hey Road,

don't you also think though that something that took over 2 years to put in and was touted as the next big thing would have automatically made an impression? I'll be honest, to me it looks exactly the same. Not having played the game I can't say if it has made a difference or not made a difference.

Well I thought the preview was decent. Also, he's not the only one I've heard question gameflow. This is the 3rd person that I've heard question gameflow after E3. Looks like it's turning out quite like I thought it would. As far as the lack of a mention of locomotion, it seems like whoever wrote the article doesn't read the blogs or something because he commented on seeing what they have in store for career mode and as well all know, they have nothing for career mode. That would definitely explain the lack of a mention of locomotion. If no one told him about it, he probably couldn't tell that it was implemented. I know I can't when I look at vids of Madden 11.

You could be right, I'm just going on a gut feeling. I've never heard of this gamerunion before. I'm speculating that these folks just went in to play a few quarters of Madden and left the area.

I've played the demo of NCAA and it's much better than the demo of NCAA 09. That's where I'm basing my impressions. Also, I'm basing my impressions of Bill Abner's impressions after E3. He is a sim game reviewer along with Bill Harris and Abner's impressions of locomotion were quite positive.

If they knew locomotion was a touted for the last two years, don't you think they would have said, "It was great, what a noticeable difference" or Meh, they wasted their time with locomotion.

That would have been something instead of nothing.

if you write for a magazine, that mistake should have not made print--err cyberspace.

                              Here are two more...

"Hopefully the online and career portions of the game that weren't shown have a few more surprises in store for us."

"Hopefully, this extends to the overall presentation in Madden 11 because last year's game frequently felt half assed"

                              back on topic,

The preview was lacking information on how the game actually played. We already knew about most of the new animations and additions to play-calling.
