    HTC HD2

Phone sounds amazing, however its running Windows.....I got into the smart phone thing about 6 months ago when i got the T-Mobile MyTouch, awesome phone. HTC is really awesome when it comes to hardware. Later i got the MotorCliq and gave the MyTouch to my dad.

However my brother is due for an update sometime within the next 2 months. I'm going to give him my Cliq and pick up something new. This phone looks and sounds amazing. But i've just grown accustomed to the Android style and market, don't want to get into the Windows space. But i have to say amazing phone.

Any suggestions on phones coming out within the next 2 months that run android and are on par with this HTC HD2?

Check here, it's a great website for HTC phones and they have a lot of "add-ons" that you can install and update your phone.

The specs of this phone are amazing, I really wish it was running a different OS.

Quite honestly, I would never purchase this phone even if you gave me the money to do so...

HTC and T-Mo have added a beautiful phone to their catalog but this device will not be upgradeable to WinMo Phone Series 7, that in it of itself is a game killer considering the weak sauce that is 6.5.

I'd wait for Windows 7 personally if I were to buy a Windows phone.

I don't know about the HD2, but I know people were able to get android running on the first HD so that could be an option

Humm i'm hearing Windows mobile is better than the Android OS and that Windows 7 will decimate everything else, if so i might tune into Windows over Android

HTC Supersonic. Rumour is that it's the same specs but running Android.

I'm definitely getting this phone. Sense UI pretty much puts a huge mask over the Windows Mobile OS. Add the fact that XDA devs are working on getting Android as well as Windows 7 on this beast. I played with the demo in the store and it's VERY fast. I was watching House on MobiTV and it looks great on that screen. BEAST!

Only problem with this phone is that it's not compatible with the upcoming Windows 7 mobile OS coming out later this year.

I'm running Win 6.5 and Sense 2.5 on my Touch Pro (AT&T Fuze). It is great. I do wish there was an app catalog as there is some stuff from Apple that I would like.

True. I will miss all of the Google functionality (I had an Android phone), but I'm willing to look past that because this phone is an entertainment powerhouse. It comes with Transformers 1 & 2 preloaded. Barnes and Noble Nook application. Then I can get my NBA League Pass fix with MobiTV! The 24th can't come soon enough.

Also, there is a big HD2 even being held tomorrow. If you're into tech, Engadget or Gizmodo will be live-blogging from the event.

Hang on. So it's not released in th US yet? We've had it in Australia for a bit now although locked to one Telco for three months.

fishpa, I've read the HD2 wasn't officially ruled out and that it was a candidate for W7. Although I've also read it has been ruled out.

It really doesn't matter though. The XDA devs will have W7 running on it anyway.

Nope. It's been out over seas since like October. LOL. It debuts in the US on the 24th. The specs are updated for the US version though.

Ah ok. Specs updated? Interesting. Might have to read about that.

Also, I guess this is confirmation W7 upgrade is dead.

XDA will still do it but it won't be supported officially.
