EXPANSION HELP
Thought I'd ask for help. I want to create my own team and move them into the league. Truthfully what team do you think would be best to remove and what rating should be the highest player allowed on the team... Also I am considering a rule of takin all FA except 16 players or taking one player from each team an then other 21 FA; what would you say is best option. THANKS FOR HELPTags: None -

The Jacksonville Jaguars are not long for this world. They had to cover up 10,000 seats with tarp to avoid blackouts. It was a sad day when the NFL bypassed Baltimore and expanded into the 49th largest market. What were they thinking. Anyway, remove the Jaguars -
Re: EXPANSION HELP
The Lions or Rams would be a good option. Take a bunch of the good prospects on the team and then fill the remaining spots with players from FA or from other teams that aren't higher than a certain rating that you think is fair.Comment

Re: EXPANSION HELP
Thanks for the help so far guys but j/w what rating do you think is best to limit players me & my buddy were talking about doing this together to see who could build a better team. We thinking players =/- 65 ovr and atleast entering 3 yrs experience. Do you think thats fair enough or should we go up to 70 ovr?Comment

Re: EXPANSION HELP
HAHA This is hilarious!! Do you know how many times I've taken over the Raiders in a franchise mode and made up a storyline in my head that Al Davis finally died and I'm coming in and changing the culture? That is classic.
Seriously though, I used to move a team to Boston and call them the Knights with red/black/white colors. They were pretty awesome to look at. I always try to take a team that doesn't have any tradition. It would be stupid to take teams like the 49ers, Cowboys, Redskins, Steelers, etc. I used to pick the Saints a lot, but they haven't been too bad in the past few years. It really depends on where you want to move them, that way you can pick a city that is in the same general area so that it will seem more realistic (that way you don't have the San Antonio Whatevers in the NFC North). Hope that helps.Playing Madden for what it is, not what it used to be.
If you continue seeking a Madden game with all of the options it had on XBox, you will be disappointed. If you accept that the next-gen version of Madden is a downgrade in every area except graphics, then you will find a true gaming experience.Comment

Re: EXPANSION HELP
i replaced the bills with the Boston Shamrocks. I figured if NY was big enough for 3 teams i could take one out and now have 2 in Mass. Plus Buffalo has been rumored to possibly moving to canada and they arent great and i wont miss them in my chise but i made sure i cut all theit good players on their roster before I started (ex. t.o., m.stroud, l.mcKelvin, l.evans, ...) because they will disappear if you replace thier team otherwise.Comment

Re: EXPANSION HELP
I just started one. The Los Angeles Storm. Maroon and black. They look phat. I used a cupcake team and replaced the Rams. Wanted the team to be in the West (obviously) and St. Louis basically has one good player (Steven Jackson).
I decided to just keep the cupcake team for the first year and go with it. Decided to sim the first couple of years and just handle the GM aspects of the team until I could get them respectable enough that I wanted to play with them. Went 0-16 in year one (not surprising). Fired the fictional coaching staff and replaced them with Jason Garrett (Head Coach), Norv Turner (O. Coordinator), and a couple other guys I can't remember for the other spots. It was really hard to get some decent FA's to want to come to LA on an 0-16 team but I think I drafted pretty well so it shouldn't be too long until we're a contender.Jay Cutler is a whiny little girl.Comment

Re: EXPANSION HELP
I believe the rules for an expansion team would work fine. IIRC, each team selects 10 players to enter into the expansion draft based on their skill, upside, contract number, etc. So just look at each teams players. For example, a team won't let a young stud at LT go before they lose an aging veteran, even if his OVR is higher. Just take it as realistic as possible.Comment
