Peavy, Upton carry Yankes to victory

Opening day belonged to the Yankees, as they won by an impressive score of 8-2 over the Baltimore Orioles. Leading the charge on the mound was ace Jake Peavy, who went 7 solid innings giving up just 4 hits and 1 earned run. Giving the boost at the plate was young star Justin Upton, who had 2 hits in 4 at-bats, one of them being a 3-run bomb to left-center off of Orioles starter Rich Harden. Also hitting their first homers of the season were Posada and Pena. Game 2 of this series comes our way tomorrow night, with Edinson Volquez on the mound for the Yanks and Chris Carpenter for the Orioles.
