Getting an effective offense going with your big men

How can I get an effective offense going with my PF and C? It seems no matter what I do, or who I play with, I can't score points down low. Can anyone give me some tips, or explain the shot stick a little more to me? And how do I do spin around the defender for a lay-up? Any help is appreciated.

Oh, and this is my first post!

Get in the Tutorial and you can practice your moves with your back to the basket. As for the spin, no idea and I'm in my 4th season. I have an extrememly talented senior center and he averages about 20 a game. His backup on the otherhand shoots about 40%. When you get the moves and stick down it depends on the talent of your bigman.

practice is the only way to learn. some centers are still not going to be able to do stuff and will miss some easy shots.

the fade-away is the toughest. the up and under is my favorite. hook shot second.

The up-and-under move is damn near money, and don't be afraid to pump fake your butt off.

Pass the ball around the perimeter and make a quick pass down low, the pick and roll works good for me

I have even created a center 7'1 304 lbs and he only averages 6pts a game. It could just be my play style as I shoot the long ball at least 20 times a game.

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

Read koshi's esoteric thread. You will need to tone down the CPU double team or else you will get pulled into the double team animation. Also, switching your camera view could help out. I don't know what you play on but if you play on default the spacing is bad (problem in all 2K games with certain cameras). I usually play Nosebleeds because my team's style is up & down and I like to see the court. If I had some traditional bangers I would probably use Overhead or a tweaked 2K to give them some room.

If you do it enough they cpu will leave there feet and you can blow by with a dunk. Also good ball movement works to get guys open down low. I like to slash so I have to have big men with handles.

Your 7'1" guy must not be MY 7'1" stud, Duke center Brian Zoubek, who has been one of my main go-to guys and a big reason why we almost always outscore the opponent in the paint. He has had some frustrating moments, losing the ball several times on turnovers and having shots blocked by guys half a foot shorter (further evidence that big, heavy white guys can't jump). But he has been mostly money, despite his lackluster 71 rating. His highwater mark came in Chapel Hill, when he torched the Tar Heels for 36 points (in 12-minute halves!).

Well obviously, Duke and St. Francis are definitely NOT of the same caliber. And I will soon share those sentiments of yours when I start my closed legacy. I ran Texas Southern for several seasons with the PS2 version of 2k5 and loved it. Should be interesting to approach recruiting with a completely different mind set.

Make sure you are using an offense that doesnt put ur C and PF out of position. When I playing w/ different teams, I run into offeneses that have there big men around the 3 pt line and off the block. I use a Motion, Flex or High post if i have a good shooting Center.

But usually just swing the ball around the key unit your PF and C get a good position or mismatch. I feel u have to make your move quick cause the help D comes quick when you are trying to post up. Pick and Roll works well too.
