Which scouting options scout which skills? Im trying to make a lions rebuild, but have been told to do no in season scouting due to realism.

Id like to unlock everything but potential, and comparisons if possible. So which scouting options should i NOT do?

Thanks in advanced!

Potential is unlocked by personal interviews conducted during the off season scouting. Just don't do those if you don't want the potential unlocked.

Comparisons will be shown for any player you scout their position up to 100% during the season. For example, if you scout Big School QB's all the way during the season, all the big school QB's will have thier NFL comparisons visible.

Of course, anyone you scout past a certain point during the off season scouting will also show the comparisons. Some of them are going to be unlocked no matter what you do. The best thing you can do is try not to get anyone above the 60% scouted mark before the draft, or just try not to look at the comparisons.

Thats a bummer. So the only thing the individual workouts unlock is potential then? Because I think i can get around the comparisons by just not looking or taking them into much consideration.

And with the current skill of my current GM, I'm not worried about getting 100% scouting this season. lol

dont do the individual workouts, and dont do prodays. and of course dont do inseason.

so basically, its just the senior bowl and combine. you CAN scout inseason if you want, and as long as you dont go to 100% you wont get comparisions

I'm not seeing the big deal about the comparisons. I mean sometimes it really helps especially when trying to avoid a bust (ie a WR rated in the 90s with a comparison to Mike Williams). But other times I have gotten guys late in the draft compared to Adrian Peterson, Shawn Merriman, Brandon Jacobs, Jason Taylor and so on and they weren't all that good. The AP and Jacobs guys had similar trucking styles but overall they were not nearly on par with the guys they were compared to. I have also gotten late round successes based on the comparison but overall in my experience its not that reliable when it comes to predicting a successful player.

My biggest complaint is that it's too easy to tell who completely blows. When you look at QB's for example, and you see 6 or 7 Jared Lorezen's, you know those guys are no good.

I've also have had favorable comparisons of guys who sucked, and I saw a Trent Dilfer comparison become a 90+ OVR QB.

haha that happened to me. i got a 7th round steal at OLB since he was compared to merriman. the other 10 OLBs on the board were all compared to vinny ciruci, so it was an obvious pick

next draft i do i might not use player comparisions bc it made it kindof too easy to draft, i had a good amount of sleepers
