UPDATE#2- 2/16/09- just uploaded V2 with 31 teams replacing the previous Thunder, Raptors, TWolves, Bobcats teams in the below association setup...

I have spent a few weeks compiling 26 classic teams of 8-12 players per team (the max I could create) in one roster file.

THANKS to PortandBlazer, Taur's Hardwood Classics, and other unknown sources.

Additionally I did all the edits in TOMBA's roster style and settings to eliminate sliding and create more authenticity.

Finally, I adjusted the coaching sliders to reflect each team's style (roughly)

example roster squads: From PortlandBlazer -
Reggie's Pacers (re-edited to 1998 Pacers)

From Taur Hardwood Classics-
72-73 Knicks
Kentucky Colonels
73 Nets
Barry's Warriors
70 Lakers
ABA Pacers
Connie Hawkins' Suns

From others-
Jordan's Bulls (compiled best found individual player DNA's)
Isaiah's Pistons
70's Bulls
Bird's Celts
Magic's Lakers
Hakeem's Rockets
Stockton's Jazz

From me-
ABA Nuggets
The Buffalo Braves (as Cavaliers)
76ers with Chocolate Thunder and Dr. J
Kings with Tiny Archibald
77 Blazers

And more!

The final 4 teams to use are the Thunder, Raptors, TWolves, Bobcats...
all edited down to be fodder for the classic teams.

The only thing you need to do is when you start a association, watch the news screen for signings of free agents by the created teams- the CPU will sign 1 player per team to 9 classic squads, so when they do, get over to the edit screen and edit those signed players down, so they dont dominate your classic teams!

* play with injuries off and make sure the rotations are correct.

I have them aligned in my franchise this way:
EAST
1. 70's knicks,Lakers,Bullets,Celtics,Raptors
2. 70's Bucks,Pistons,Suns,Bulls,Kings
3. 70's Warriors,Hawks, Braves, Bobcats,Thunder

WEST
1. ABA Nets,Colonels,Pacers, Nuggets,TWolves
2. 80's Lakers, Celtics,Pistons,Blazers,76ers
3. 90's Knicks,Jazz,Rockets,Pacers,Bulls


The rosters are sweet-
No short shorts but otherwise
NOT perfect though- still need help perfecting them.

Played several games in a 26 team Classic Team Association and it's like a dream...literally...

Hakeem's Rockets SLAMMED my '77 blazers by 20 pts!

Then I turned a huge deficit into an exciting 98-95 win by Maravich's Hawks over Rick Barry's Warriors in Golden State.
Barry had 20 pts at halftime, until I doubled him and held him to 7 in the second half.

Ewing's knicks beat the ABA Kentucky Colonels with Artis Gilmore
on 37 pts by Ewing. Gilmore had 5 blocks but Ewing owned him otherwise.

Finally, the 76ers with Dr. J and World B. Free beat a lousy team by the skin of their teeth, sleepwalking through a lackluster 5 pt. win...Dr. J was an insane 50% behind the 3pt line.

Do facial edits not go over in roster downloads still? Cause the MJ in the bulls team doesn't look at all like him..? Does this mean all the created players in your roster will have default faces?

i idid not do MJs face...MJ on the bulls team was downloaded from the created players list from 2ksports online- that guy was the highest rated one i found, but you can replace him by picking another one on the list if you want.

Some of the faces you will find are spot on...some not...personally i placed more emphasis on gameplay and team styles than the faces because there are only so many hours in a day...

as I mentioned before i hope people will add to, improve, and refine the file and share it with others as a community project...feel free to make it better ... if you like classic teams, this file has the most. (26) but it would be great to have all 30 if you can spend some time to do the final 4....

Im working on the file now to have all 30 teams...adding Bernard king's 82 Knicks, Shaq and Kobe's 2k Lakers, '98 spurs, '76 Rockets with Moses Malone and Cal Murphy and the Champion Supersonics of '79.

Do you have a time frame for release? I really enjoy your roster set.

I do have a question for you. Whe you created the Buffalo Braves, you used the Cleveland Cavs instead of the LA Clippers. The Clippers were the original Buffalo Braves.

Is there a chance you could create the Cavs with players Austin Carr G, Jim Chones C, Jim Brewer, PF, Bingo Smith SF, Campy Russel SF. This was very good and very underrated team.

I did the Braves as Cavs because the Clippers were screwing up the names for some reason. Its hard not to corrupt the file when you get files from 20 different sources...its a huge amount of work.

But the 30 teams are fixed now.
I didn't want to mess up the entire file so I decided to just shelve the clippers for awhile. As it turns out, I needed the Clippers slot to create a third Lakers team- one 70's, one 80's and one with shaq and Kobe.

Ideally, if we could create uniforms, and customize teams, we could have had 3 Lakers teams and a real Braves and Sonics team, but this will have to do.

The Clipper glitch was fixed and now will be able to offer 30 classic teams all in one roster file.

As far as creating a new CAVS team, the 75 team was good, but just not exciting to me. Of course you could create one yourself. Its not that hard.

I am burnt out now...I actually want to PLAY an association and find out who is the best team of all time!

Again, thanks for all the work. I was thinking about taking one of the roster sets I do loaded to make an all-time players rosters. If I had the time, if would include players from the ABA.
