    My 2k8 Ratings Spreadsheet

Here is my 2k8 Ratings Spreadsheet Project. Hope it can help some of you.

COLLEGE HOOPS 2K8 RATINGS CALCULATOR (based on real stats)

    BY: TarHeelsUNC

    1. Copy stats from the top table on ESPN.com team stat pages to left part of spreadsheet.
    2. Manually input 3PA, OFF (rebound), and DEF (rebound).
    3. Input the team's RPI from the source of your choice. The RPI Bonus will be calculated.
    4. Input the player's year pro. Go by years on varsity, not actual year in college.
Example: Kenny George is a Junior in college, but this is his 2nd year playing.
    5. Your individual attributes and Player Overall will be automatically calcualated.

    STL - Steal
    AST - Passing
    DRB - Defensive Rebound
    ORB - Offensive Rebound
    3PT - 3 Point Shot Ability
    3T - 3 Point Shot Tendency
2PT - Inside Shot Ability (May not always be right for guards)
    BH - Ballhandling
    OA - Offensive Awareness (Base)
    DA - Defensive Awareness (Base)
    FT - Free Throw Ability
    BLK - Block Ability
    OVR - Overall Rating (suggested)

After inputting the individual ratings into the game, adjust various ratings to achieve the desired overall rating. My suggestions of edits are O and D Awareness, O and D Low Post, On Ball D, and Consistency. These adjustments work best for playerss with considerable MPG, but the overall rating usually works for all players.

I hope you all enjoy my rating adjustments. If not, sorry I couldn't help.

PLEASE BACK UP YOUR DATA PRIOR TO USE. I CAN NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL LIKE THE SAME RATING ADJUSTMENTS I DO. I WILL ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR PERCEIVED POOR GAMEPLAY. NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES.
MOST RECENT UPDATE ON PAGE 4!!

Is there any way I can learn how to do this because it would help me out with my NBA 2K rosters.

Can you help me or direct me to somewhere/someone that can help?

How the hell do I even use it; I can't figure this out man sorry.

Interesting, the ratings for UNC in the Excel file look very similar to a legacy 4-5 years in. And what's up w. the 100+ attributes?

So wait...we just copy and paste it directly? Or do we have to past the number somewhere in the formula?

This is pretty sweet by the way. It should help people who are doing rosters in place of 2K9

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/teams/stats?teamId=153Copy the stats starting with "Tyler Hansbrough" to cell A2. Then type in 3PA, OFF (rebound, and DEF (rebound).

It's great, it has given me more inspiration to update the rosters for 2k7 for xbox, and makes it much easier.

Edit: Nevermind, I figured out what it is, I just looked at Kyle Singler and I figured it out.

                          Re: My 2k8 Ratings Spreadsheet

When I try to C&P it drops all the data in one straight line in the same cell, there's no comma delimited or whatever to separate the fields.

EDIT: Also the RPI bonus calculator doesn't seem to work for me, is it supposed to be a formula built in to the spreadsheet?

Are you using firefox or IE? IE would be compatible with it, firefox would drop it into one cell.

Yeah, I figured it out. You can also right-click and use "Paste Special" in XLS if you get it from FF and it works out.
