Pitch Counts in MLBTS 25

One thing I've noticed this year is that it feels like the CPU doesn't care about pitch counts for starters very much. It feels like now, performance is all that matters. If a guy has allowed 4 earned runs in 3 innings, but has only thrown 60 pitches, the CPU has a short leash on him. In real life, I feel like he'd get at least up to 80 pitches before getting yanked.

Anyone have any consistent luck getting the CPU starters to throw 90-100 pitches? If so, which sliders have worked for you?

I feel like starter stamina slider doesn't matter as much as before, and I'm currently using hook at 3 or 4.

Re: Pitch Counts in MLBTS 25

There are a couple of factors at play here.

1) The show tries to emulate the current MLB game, in that starters typically don't go as deep into games as they used to.

2) Some starters in the show have terribly low stamina attribute ratings. A starter in the show that has a stamina attribute of 70 or lower isn't ever going go much further than the 4th or 5th inning without being completely gassed.

For my franchise, I only bumped up the stamina slider to 6, I don't want to go any higher than that. And for those starters around the league with a stamina rating that is too low, I just bumped them up to at least 75 to get them deeper into games.

Re: Pitch Counts in MLBTS 25

I had to try hook at 1 to get the CPU starter to go 90+ pitches. The Braves had a 8-3 lead in the 6th inning and I hit a HR off of Reynaldo Lopez to make it 8-4. They then took him out and he was at 101 pitches and was on red. I had SP stamina at 6 and his stamina rating was 93.

But yeah, stamina slider doesn’t really affect anything. And if you even raise their pitcher stamina to 90, they still get yellow at around 75 pitches.

Yeah I put hook at 4 and was considering 3. How does it affect the relief pitchers being pulled?

Curious on what month of the season you’re in.
In past iterations, the starters stamina got progressively better as the months went on I felt like. Is that true this year? Haven’t finished April yet in any of my franchises so every starter is red by 75-80 pitches.

This was in the beginning of May.
