Interesting bug, first time I experienced it

Disclaimer: I play on PS5 and installed an update today. I wonder if an EA work-around for the PS5 was broken today.


I have a 14-0 lead in the early 2nd quarter. They have a strong drive going, but I hold them to a FG. But my computer players roughed the kicker, so they take the points off the board for 1st and 10 at my 17. They pass to my 1 and a 1st down. Then they throw an interception in the endzone and my interceptor tripped and stumbled out of the back of the endzone for a touchback... right? I ended up getting the ball at THEIR 1 yard line.



Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

I had something similar early on. CPU kicks FG and I rough their kicker. The three stayed on the board and they got a new possession too.

That sucks. I wish they would turn roughing the kicker into a slider like roughing the passer is instead of an on/off toggle. I was called for roughing the kicker when their LT pushed my CPU player into the kicker. This almost made me lose a game. I don't want to turn this penalty off but there are times I am tempted to.

did he catch it at the one yard line, then stumble back? There are definitely times where i've seen some issues with forward progress but usually it seems like they cancel it too early, if the ball carrier starts to break a tackle but is still in contact

Even if he did, I think the glitch he's describing is that it gave him the ball 99 yards away with Goal to go from the opponent's 1.

He caught it 8 or 9 yards deep in the endzone. I had another defender in the area, who dove for the ball and was lying on the ground. The interceptor stumbled over his teammate and staggered before falling out of the back of the endzone. Your question / comment wouldn't be a bug. I intercepted the ball in the endzone and should have gotten the ball at my 20, but I got it at their 1.
