How are we feeling about this new home run camera? Feels like 1 step forward 2 steps back.. I really hope we have an option this year to turn it off, I personally don’t care for the camera cut at the start

Really wish we had the option to toggle it off. Not being able to follow the ball is gross imo.

I think it's better. I don't like showing the distance like that at the end though.Comment

Re: New home run camera in 25
That clip with the player starting his jog should be in a replay. Not in a live shot. And the distance at the end has too much of a home run derby feel. Or have it in a replay. Not a live shot.Follow me on Twitch

Re: New home run camera in 25
Just FYI, that's in Showdown - a Diamond Dynasty mode. I don't really think it's gonna show the distance like that in real time for normal games.
Other than that, yeah, looks like the one we saw before at the very start of one of the feature premieres.Comment

Don’t like HR cameras. Takes away from the immersion. Hopefully we can turn it off.Comment

Re: New home run camera in 25
Y'all aren't gonna like this opinion, but I think it's a creative use of the medium to use basically the same sequence we often see in broadcast replays in real time, with the celly happening in real time. My main issue with what we had in previous years was that it didn't show where the ball was landing, and it appears to now.
Even in real life these days, they'll hold the camera on the player's bat flip live sometimes when it's really obvious they got all of it. And there's always at least one trained on the batter to be used for replay.
I know it's contentious, but I think it's a good compromise.
Edit: The distance popup is over the top, but as I said before I don't think that's going to show up in normal games. Showdown is closer to home run derby than it is an actual game.

Re: New home run camera in 25
Though I will say I think this is a thing where if TV broadcasts COULD do it in some form, they would. And who knows, if AI is able to detect an IRL no doubt barrel and instantly switch a camera, we might actually see this in a real broadcast someday. Wouldn't be the first time real life presentation was inspired by video games (hello K-Zone!)
Also, not to absolutely lose the plot here - it should definitely be an option. Especially when the code for it is or was in the game. Home run derby still gives the option, no?

Yeah, creativity and realism are what's at odds here. And that's fine - it's just a difference of opinion on presentation.

I also really like the new in play higher up zoomed out camera. Feel like the outfielders look smallerComment
