This includes my own "personal" set of rules, but also some others from the community, plus some one-offs I've seen. I'll add more to it if y'all end up posting a bunch more in here.

If I'm being honest, I'm not crazy about the recruiting in this game. I've actually just set it to auto(very glad that is an option in this game) and I'm rolling with the players I get.
      NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats
      MLB: Atlanta Braves
      NBA: San Antonio Spurs

If I continue with my dynasty this might be what I do. I find recruiting in this game to just be repetitive and not fun. Scout is tedious to the point that I just recruit based off ranking instead.

Huh. I love recruiting in this game and it’s easily my favorite part of it. The gameplay is great, but I definitely wouldn’t have nearly as much enjoyment if not for the recruiting.
          Favorite Teams:
          College #1: Michigan Wolverines
College #2: Michigan State Spartans (my alma mater)
College #3: North Carolina Tar Heels
          NHL: Detroit Redwings

I think that scouting and recruiting needs a lot of QOL work. Scouting is incredibly tedious. And then once you find out which hard/soft sell to use it’s super repetitive. But to each their own.

Honestly I’m open to ideas to make it more interesting because I do find the gameplay to be fairly solid.

I think the actual mechanics of the recruiting aren't very deep so I get that part of it. But man I love scouring for guys and scouting them and finding those initial players I'm excited about because I know I could get to play with them. So it's one of those things where I tend to agree the overall "process" is pretty straight forward, but I enjoy it because of the outcomes I know could be on the horizon.

Old post but I kinda tried to use a method where my prestige rating guides me. I can recruit anyone who is the same caliber as my school’s prestige or lower (though I gravitate to kids who have me in their Top 10). But, my prestige also restricts how many kids above me I can bring in. For example if I’m a 1-star program then I can only bring in 1 kid above 1 star. A 3-star program? I can only bring in 3 kids above 3 star. I won’t restrict it to a single star above my current prestige but the kid has to be interested already. So, bringing a single 3-star to my 1-star program might not be unheard of.

Re: The House Rules Hub for Recruiting in College Football 25 Dynasty Mode

                    My house rules are:

                    1) The only time I, the head coach touch recruiting is in the Preseason, to set my recruiting board and offer scholarships to the ones I want to have them.

                    2) The offseason in order to hit the portal and try to sign any remaining players in my board. I don’t add any new high school recruits to my board…only portal players.

                    3) In season recruiting, which includes setting up visits are done by my staff(Set to Auto), and whoever we get that’s who I roll with.

So far since I’ve been playing, I’ve only had one recruiting class in the top 25(#25). I’m also doing the slowest Coach Progression too so it takes a while to level up and that plays a role. I’m 6 years into my Dynasty and I’m only a Level 13 HC.

Ya know, a combination of both of these could be pretty slick. You have limited time during the season because um, head coach duties. So, you let auto handle it. You have just enough ”free” bandwidth weekly to manually entertain the few guys above your school’s prestige that you’re allowed to target.

My only concern is during my time trying auto recruiting, it does in fact add/remove players from your board it seems.

I’d be some kinda tight if I was working the lone player above 1-star who happened to be interested in Kennesaw State…3-star qb at that. Then the auto ruined that for me somehow during the week advance after I had buddy right where I wanted him. lol

I was just coming to ask if auto-recruiting made changes to the board.

I haven't ever used auto-recruiting, and was considering trying it. But if the CPU can remove guys I want and add it's own guys, then I may pass.

At least that’s what I’ve seen. Though I didn’t dig too deep. I just know kids that committed elsewhere were removed. And several 3-stars (I was a 1.5-star at the time) that I added in preseason weren’t there when I checked a few weeks in.

They’ve got some work to do to bring it to parity with 14 in that you set the board and auto just manages the board you set. Unless you want auto to be fully automated but give us settings to tailor that. But I get that it’s year 1.

No it definitely does make changes.

I started a test dynasty after that post last night, and filled up my board in the preseason.

The next week, the bottom 10-12 guys were all dudes I never added and not the guys I did add.

Seeker7's house rules are simple and really solid. I've been rolling with those since I got to W. Michigan after Utah State fired me. I'm a 2 ½ star program now which means I can go after 3 star kids not just in my home state but in my pipeline. I've only signed like 12 kids of the 29 I targeted in preseason with 1 regular season game to go but they're all 3 stars. haha

I added Chase's rule that send the house is the highest thing I can do. I don't hard sell. Honestly, that's a bit of a QoL improvement if I'm being honest. Set it and forget it. haha
