    NHL 25 - Superstar Sliders

Once you slow the game speed down, the game plays very close to the pace of an actual hockey game. These could be good on all-star as well, but I find the scoring a bit out of control on all-star and superstar offers more realism and animations. I'm still having trouble scoring more than 2-3 goals a game but it's coming.

Just gave these a try for a couple of games and they felt really good. One thing about this game that I really hate, and I don’t think any slider settings will fix it, is how frustrating the user passing is. I can have accuracy and assistance turned all the way up and I still can’t get a straight pass across the blue line on the powerplay.

Thanks! I made a few slight changes and will post them. Just to make for more scoring for both the CPU and myself. Gave myself a slight edge in shooting and goaltending until I catch onto the scoring. A drop in the game speed really made a difference, and more time to see the ice. The game plays very realistically with that frenetic pace taken away. The passing can be a bit frustrating for sure but slowly getting better.

Made a few adjustments on the sliders and put asterisks on the areas that I gave a slight advantage over the cpu. Once I get more playing time in, I'll probably tinker some more, but this is the best the game has felt for me yet.

I think I like the previous shooting sliders a little more than the new ones. They felt more in sync with the slower game speed. The other changes play really well though. I’m messing with the pass accuracy slider to try to get percentages a little more equal. I tried user slider at 75 but somehow my passing was worse.

I don't think it matters TBH with the pass accuracy slider. The one thing I did find helps in the previous titles is if you lower the pass reception ease slider on the cpu side to loosen the puck up a bit and have passes not completed as easily, but I'm hesitant to fiddle with too much. I adjusted the shooting just to get more scoring for me and it is working. Once I refine my skills, I'll probably drop it down.

I usually leave CPU passing at 50 or will drop it to 37, but like you said if you drop the pass reception slider it helps with not taking all passes cleanly. I'll set it to 41 or 42 for both user and cpu.

Crazy thing, with the old "Full Sim" Sliders, they had the pass reception ease set to 23. Now on NHL 25 by default it's at 60, which is what the old "Competitive" Slider set had it set to. "Traditional" had it at 80 LOL.

Do you find with the difficulty on superstar the CPU goes for hits rather than playing solid defense and only plays "straight line" hockey on offense? I found this on all-star and is the main reason i bumped down to pro. I just wasn't getting enough diverse zone entries and scoring opportunities from the CPU. It was just one guy entering the zone and then perfect tic tac toe passing leading to a goal. Not as sloppy. On Superstar have you found the CPU is more dynamic and creative or is it just that they're more successful at the same things they do on Pro?

No I see a good variety on offense. They usually carry it in but sometimes they dump and chase. The hits in number are realistic and there are more animations. The game just feels better on Superstar for my taste. There are missed passes as well by the cpu when in the offensive zone. If you want to loosen up the puck, the pass reception ease is a good one to lower especially for the cpu as more pucks will get mishandled. You also might want to adjust the strategy sliders as well for more variety.

Weeks later these sliders are still playing great for me. Seeing some sloppy play from both my team and the lower rated CPU teams but also some really tight, clean play from both as well. Nice goal variety too. Most fun I’ve had with an NHL game in years.

I’m getting back into hockey after a long hiatus, and have really been struggling lately on Pro with my current settings , but two games in with these and I am [emoji637]-[emoji637] and having fun again.

Only thing that has stuck out to me is the shot attempts for the CPU were [emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]+ both games. Some of that comes down to playing better D for sure, but I had yet to see attempts that high.

Superstar to me doesn’t feel like it has that scripted CPU berserk mode. Yes you’ll get pressured in your own zone if the CPU is losing late in a game but it feels manageable if I play smart defense. On other levels it feels like they can do whatever they want no matter what I do which leads to frustration. On superstar if I lose, 99% of the time I know why.

For sure. The games feel a lot less sweaty and are more enjoyable with these sliders compared to the ones I was previously using on Pro.

Had a really good start to my season but have hit a recent rough patch losing 5 out of 6. Pretty accurate as I’ve seen the Rangers go through the same thing in the real world. Trying to get the recent acquisitions worked into the lineup and dealing with a couple of injuries to key players have played a big part in my struggles.
