Armor & Sword's "Average Joe" Pro Level Custom Sliders (Season and Franchise Mode)

Hello Average Joe Nation!!! I am taking a dive into the deep end with developing sliders for NHL 25. This is my first real foray into developing sliders for the NHL series. I have been a long time console Hockey video gamer but I would not even consider myself an expert on the game of hockey. My interest in Hockey has been strong the last decade and it has leaped over the NFL as my second favorite professional sport next to MLB Baseball and the way the game is going on the diamond.....the NHL very well may become my #1 sport before long. I am a season ticket holder for your Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers so I got to experience the CUp run first hand.

Something I did not share on here was I had the opportunity to celebrate in the locker room with the Panthers the night we won the cup. It was a surreal experience. Two players happen to be clients of mine (I will not mention their names) and we were able to get to know a lot of the players, coaches, and family members over the course of the last 3 seasons. The celebration was simply amazing. Smoking cigars, pouring beer and liquor all over the place, dancing, singing, hugging...the joy was incredible. But the real thing I took away from the entire ride was how close and tight nit hockey teams can be. And how humble and gracious the players in the NHL are. These are easily the most down to earth guys I have ever been around in terms of professional athletes. So my love for the game now has increased 100 fold after being part of that special season from the inside.

So I will have the game in hand on the 4th. I have been playing on the 10 hour trial and having a total blast.

Understand I am not a highly skilled Hockey gamer. So the sliders will have a slight tilt to the human player. These are specifically being designed for us older dudes who want a simulation experience, smooth gameplay, a totally clean screen, and want to play multiple years in franchise and most of all have a lot of fun.

The game really feels great. I had been playing 23 a ton this past year and before that 19. I love the new franchise hub, conversation system and the new one timers are really a lot of fun guys.

I don't want toxic vitriol posting in here. I won't tolerate it for a second. This is a postive place where I hope to enahnce your enjoyment of the game.

This is not a bugs thread nor can I teach you how to play. I am assuming you understand the basics of hockey, the controls and franchise in's and out's.

The goal is to simply provide the community a choice for those seeking an easier experience because your particular skill level playing video game hockey is not advanced.

There are some outstanding slider makers already here who have great sets that provide a lot more of a "challenge" if that is what you are looking for.

But if you are familiar with how I approach sports games, my style and feel you will probably love the "Average Joe" approach

Nice! I've used your sliders for MLB and a few others, and I am very average at NHL but enjoying it so far. I'll give these a run, it's around where I've been at on Pro.

Thanks for sharing your insight and stories about the Panthers and NHL. I played hockey growing up and coached high school a bit.

Have not been around pro players, but with what I’ve experienced with the hockey culture and humility of players I could totally see the NHL being that way.

Greetings Armor, glad to see you are enjoying the game. I am an "Average Joe" hockey player and am always on the fence about purchasing this game. I downloaded the trial and plugged in your settings and I must say I had a great time!

Winnipeg (me) against Philadelphia, 6 minute periods. Tied at 2 after regulation so went to a shootout where I lost, I am NOT good at scoring in shootouts. Only one penalty called, a tripping penalty.

Going to play some more today and just wanted to say thanks for posting these!

I highly suggest going to seven minute periods you’ll see more penalties.

Bob is a really really quiet dude. Very humble and soft spoken. And he is skinny as a rail!!! This guy is a yoga master LOL.

Yeah the evening was unreal. After the Cup ceremony we made our way to the ice....got to hang out on the ice for a bit. Then...headed to the private hospitality suite for family and friends (and I got to hang out with Dan Marino up there who is one of my childhood hero's after the Eastern Conference Title win). It was joy and we were all hanging out and toasting drinks etc....then Nick Cousins comes up from the locker room and starts pouring beer all over people....going ape ****.....then Chucky comes up in just his underwear and Stanley Cup Championship belt and says follow me.

He leads a big group of us down to the locker room...I walk in with my business partner (who is on some of those pictures) and Kulikov looks at me and says have a cigar and hands me a huge stogie...lights it up...and off we go. We did not get home till 5AM.

Was unreal man. Once in a lifetime top 5 thing in my life kinda moment. It was not planned....it just happened.

He had a one year stint with the Wild a couple years ago and they did a Becoming Wild episode on him where they followed him for a day in the Summer down in Florida. It was pretty good.

Awesome experience. Thanks for sharing that! New fan, old fan, doesn't matter. ANY sports fan knows how special that experience is and it's awesome you got to experience it. As a Leaf fan, I know I won't

Also, this. There are some extremely problematic and long running issues with hockey culture (I'm not here to argue about it, I lived it) as a whole that we are years and years away from solving, but there are also some genuinely great people.

In my line of work I've been fortunate to interact and work with a handful of athletes across all of the major North American sports leagues and to this day some of the NHL guys (though not all, hah!) have easily been the best experiences and best conversations, be it chatting about interests outside of hockey or chirping back and forth. Perhaps the lower salaries vs the other majors factor into this (these guys are rich, but most aren't RICH rich), I'm not sure, but it always give me great joy to experience given some of the major issues also tied to the game.
