    AlTito's NHL 25 Sliders

    Hey everyone!

Below are the sliders I currently use in NHL 25.

They are providing a gameplay with a good mix of fun and realism. That being said, don't be afraid to adjust things to your liking or needs, as these sliders are there as a base.

Updates will be listed at the bottom of this post.

    Have fun!

    Re: AlTito's NHL 25 Sliders

    Hey Al,

Having a lot of fun with the game so far. A lot of people think it's copy/paste of 24 but it's noticabily better imo.

Speaking of copy/paste, I can copy/paste my message to you from last year:

I set the sliders in Franchise, saved them, went out and back in and they saved. I played a game and went back in to check and they were back to default. However, I was able to set the "Gameplay presets" back to my saved ones.

I know the sliders were working in my game though because I like game speed at 2 so when it's at 4 it's feels way too fast for my liking.

Thanks as always for the work you do on these, you always make the game more realistic - except for speed

This issue about sliders going back to default is annoying for sure. At least, once we select the preset in the menu before the game, it works and seemed to keep it for following games after that. But it does seem like an intermittent issue, so it's hard to pinpoint when it happens.

As for Game Speed, I started at 4 because it's the default value, but lowered it to 3 last night. I won't go below that, but will probably continue to adjust a few sliders in the Skating section.

Yeah, I bumped speed up to 3...2 was fine to play around with the new mechanics but 3 feels better

A few updates made to the sliders today. They are still a work in progress so other changes are obviously expected in coming days/weeks.

Other changes were made to the sliders today. Really trying to find the sweet spot regarding game flow with the Skating and Fatigue sliders.

Thanks for putting out good sliders, really like how the plays develop on the ice. However I have one major issue I'm facing with, AI is just crazy aggressive. AI teams have 40+ hits per game over 12 game sample thus far on 5 min periods. I don't want to mess around with hitting sliders as they are in a pretty good spot and I'm averaging around 20-23 hits per game my self. But How can I reduce the crazy aggressiveness from AI to body check me?

I agree, I've been trying out your sliders and really like most of the gameplay but I've had this same issue.

CPU team are always crazy aggressive, and not sure how to tone that down.

I'm using these sliders with a few tweaks and I feel they help a little at least. Cpu aggression 45, hitting power cpu 7 and human 10.

Cpu is still crazy aggressive on PK, but at least 5 on 5 it's not as bad. Also with the lower hitting power not every nudge sends players flying. I do think the hitting needs a patch, can't completely fix it with sliders. I hate losing puck battles due to the cpu immediately spamming hits on me the moment my player touches them puck, feels there's no counterplay due to reaction time.

Also thanks for the sliders AlTito, been using yours for ages!

                      Re: AlTito's NHL 25 Sliders

Hey guys, I was busy away from home so wasn't able to answer before this. It was good to read all the comments and even with quite positive feedbacks overall, I see that the Checking section is definitely an area that may still need work. This is something I will look at for sure, as the sliders are a work in progress.

CPU's main defensive tool are hits, since they don't use their sticks as much as I would like. So, trying to find the right balance between CPU players being hard to skate around and also keeping hitting as realistic as possible at the same time will be one of my main focus.

Following your feedbacks and things I noticed as well, I did a lot of testing and updated the sliders in the first post.

You will see that Hitting Power has been lowered to 10 from 15. Big hits are definitely less frequent, which is a good thing. It's also a bit harder to knock the puck carrier from the puck. To balance things out a bit, I increased Fall And Stumble Fall Ease to 35 from 30. I also increased Size Effect by 5 clicks, to make the size of players matter more during collisions.

Finally, I lowered Fatigue Effect by 5 clicks. I will have to test it a little bit longer though to be sure that it's the right fit. To me, the game pace is really close right now to where I want it to be.

                          Hey Al,

In the past you've always put the CPU DIFFICULTY ADJUSTMENT slider to 0/6 to 6/6 and to move up incremently as needed but this year you have it at 6/6. Do find the AI is just smarter maxed out?

Curious what you play personally, Allstar or Superstar?

I guess I can just max it out and see for myself just curious on your thoughts.

And I don't know about you but that slider glitch is still driving me nuts. I check the settings in the pregame menu and way too often its not correct. Not sure if you noiced but on the RULES tab it keep changing penalties from 4/4 to 3/4.

I tried lowering cpu difficulty at first, but that just resulted in games where the cpu has less than 10 shots on goal per game. They still scored 2-4 goals per game, but it was way too easy to keep them out of my zone. This was on all-star. Still have this issue, but it's not as severe with cpu difficulty 6/6.

And yeah, the penalties setting and post whistle rules keep resetting to default. I'm hoping they fix those when they get rid of the sliders resetting bug.

Hey Lord, I play on Superstar with difficulty adjustment at 6. It's true that I always used 0 in the past, but 6 was the default value this year and I gave it a try right off the bat. I found the CPU to be harder to play against without cheating too much, so I kept it that way. That being said, the sliders can of course be tweaked to your liking.

For the sliders glitch, I have to say that I didn't have as much trouble with it as last year. I still look at sliders in the pre-game menu before launching each game, but only had the issue maybe 5 or 6 times this year. And every time seemed to be after I switched the sliders presets in the main menu. If I only change sliders values and save the current preset, I won't have any issue. However, if I switched presets in the main menu to see or test something on another set, the sliders will be completely mixed up when I start my next game. I agree that a fix about that would definitely be welcomed, it's been happening for 2 years now!
