Really trying to like this game

But it’s not even fun right now. It feels more like work or a task due to this literally broken pass defense. NOTHING you do will stop the opposing computer. Nothing. To say it’s frustrating is putting it lightly

CFB 25 gameplay is way better, it's totally the opposite for pass coverage. I don't know why Madden is so different 🤷

It's the same soulless sh!t like MLB The Show or NBA2K. Nothing has changed and if, most of the changes are ANTi-OFFLINE players...

so just enjoy it, buy your cards with a credit-card and exploit the online gaming... And don't forget a guy like DAN ****IN MARINO, he is only available in UT....What a joke

Wonder if you guys are ever just going to accept that you've moved on from sports games and they aren't for you anymore in their modern state instead of declaring the product as bad lol

I do not disagree with anything you said. The defense is pretty bad, but I've accepted it. What I mean by that is I do not even waste time trying to find that unicorn slider setting because I know it does not exist. I just end up playing most of the game on 'play offense' in sim... I know it stinks but it is what it is at this point.

But make no mistake, this game is bad. On impulse, I did the 10 hour thing because my wife and kid were out of town. Couldn't even make it through a full game.

I have said this time and time again, if the game feels stale to you, then that's how you feel, that doesn't make the game a bad game, that's a separate issue entirely.

People need to realize that as they age sometimes gaming tastes change.

Yep. I have amazing memories with Madden 99 and NFL 2K5 in my life. There are certainly some things 2K did better than Madden does now, primarily presentation.

But the feel of gameplay is... awesome. I used to hate running the ball and now it's my favorite thing because they got the mechanics figured out. The idea that the old versions are "better" is the nostalgia talking. I love those old games but any time I go back, I'm instantly reminded of all the bugs and issues they've worked out the last several decades.

Yep, and just like I told Steve, when Madden 40 is out people will talk about "remember madden 25, now that was when madden was fun"

I've been here long enough to see it happen again and again. Nostalgia replaces judgement when people tire of games that they should take a break from.

Don't know how you guys play the game, but to me this is the closest to football perfection we've ever had.

Once the playbooks are fixed, the game will go from a 9/10 to 10/10.

amen man, I've just been alternating from College to NFL and having a blast this year. 2024 is a great year for football video games, best year since 2K5 released IMO

The fact that we have three different broadcast teams has done so much for franchise immersion. I don't even care that Tirico clearly (probably literally) phoned it in for this, the idea that my team will have a different voice every week feels SO authentic and overdue.

And if I don't think a team is appropriate for a situation, I'll just quit and restart the game until I get the right one.

Swallow your pride and either lower your difficulty level or tweak some sliders. Out of the box sliders aren't for everyone.

That is not even close to being accurate at all.

I play on All Madden default sliders.

In 3 games so far, with the Lions, I have given up 876 yards on defense (292/game) and 28 total points (9.3333/game) In back to back games against the Buccaneers, and Cardinals, I have given up 3 points each.

Defense isn't impossible. It can be frustrating at times. But it absolutely is possible to stop the CPU, and even dominate them defensively, even on All Madden.

Yep. That exactly what I did. Played (In a test franchise) and played until I came up with a set that gave me what I felt was as close as I could get.
Playing D is actually more fun for me than O lol

No issues at all when you set the game up correctly.
I get good stats and it's simply fun.
Adjusted sliders with 11-minute Quarters and 18 sec run off..
I also make sure I read O and make minor adjustments before snap etc..

Just need EA to get the PB's fixed.
