Stop running into the punter

Please, ****ing stop. This is absurd.

I’m not sure what everyone else experience is, but this has become distracting. And no, I’m not going to call plays to avoid this.

Turn off running into and roughing the kicker, both are broken.

So weird I haven’t seen it once lol. Except when I did it on purpose to cpu due to frustration.

I'm probably going to turn them off. If the play is punt - max cover there's about an 80% chance of it happening. I've been just avoiding calling that when I kick and trying to remember to user the edge defender to pull him back when the AI kicks, but thats not sustainable for me

I don’t really want to turn the penalty off. I don’t think I really have a choice.

I almost exclusively run normal punt and punt return.

From what I can tell it hinges on what the kicking team is calling. When they call "max cover" it means their blockers leave early to get downfield sooner to cover the return, and thats what allows the edge rusher to make contact with the punter.

I’m actually less concerned about my squad because I can user the offending player, as distasteful as I might find that fix. It’s the receiving team I don’t like giving me a couple free first per game.

I allow it once a game. Once that penalty happens , I turn it off for the duration. Sometimes I have to turn it off in the first quarter, sometimes in the fourth quarter, sometimes not at all.

It sucks but I have turned it off as well. It cost me too many games. Not only that but I found myself actively trying to keep my player from the kicker to avoid a penalty, instead of trying to block it like I should.

Here's what I am expecting from EA in their upcoming patch notes: "We have removed running into the kicker, so you should no longer see the penalty occurring"

From what I understand, is that they fixed it for field goals, but not for punts.

It was fixed on both but since the large patch it is back to being broken for both.

After the first patch, where this was supposedly fixed, I had it happen to my defense 3 kicks in a row. Prior to that, not once. Since the bigger patch last week, I have not had my defense commit this penalty, but the AI did on my punter, once.
