Thread to show how the sim engine looks post patch

How is the sim engine looking for everyone post patch? I simmed 2024 and got a lot worse results than I’ve had in any season prepatch. This is just a sample size of 1 though, so I’d like to see other results. Please test with a new dynasty to get all the fixes, including FCS changes which could affect the results with them getting fewer unrealistic upsets.

    Biggest takeaways:
    1. Ohio St and Georgia didn’t make the playoffs in 2 different , but equally bad ways.

    2. Ohio St went 11-2 on the season (including bowl win) and was left out. Oregon had 4 losses before the playoffs and got in as an at large (lost in title game for 5th loss).

    3. Georgia went 8-5. What’s worse, Oklahoma and TAMU had 3 losses, EVERY other SEC team had at least 5 losses…….

    4. 17 players rushed for 1000+, including 4 above 1500 (Ollie Gordon led with 1667).

Georgia won it the first 2 years in my sims. Beating Ohio state year 1 and UAB year 2. Oregon beat North Texas year 3.

I noticed it says in the headline the championship is always final/ot no matter the score.

North Texas 79 across the board beat Texas and Alabama who were 88 and 90 overall respectively.

I didn’t bother to look at UAB year 2 but I’m guessing they were rated in the 70s

Going to run multiple sims of season 1 and get the data compiled, then will have a post detailing what I find. I will mostly be looking at the macro level stuff like total plays, run/pass ratios, yards/play.

Interested to see how that comes out! Thanks canes!

I actually think the poll/playoff results are worse now based on what I’ve seen simming 5 seasons twice. It is what it is at this point.

                  Season 3
                  #1 Oregon (15-0) vs #2 Clemson (13-2)

                  #10 Cincinnati (12-4) vs #5 Miami (14-2)
                  Miami wins NC 31-26

                  8 1000 yd rushers

                  Season 5
                  #7 Oregon (12-3) vs #1 UGA (13-2)
                  UGA wins NC 42-28

                  6 1000 yd rushers

*shrugs* quick little test over lunch. Interesting to see the decline in 1000 yd rushers, will be curious to see if you folks see that as well. W/L totals and rankings seem better. Still a lot of chaos but it is a video game and definitely better than pre patch imo.

Liberty being #11 likely means they got an at large bid. That’s interesting.

In all of my test seasons, I’ve never seen an undefeated team, so Oregon making to the the title game undefeated is cool.

The fall of of 1000 yard rushers is bad. Hopefully that’s not a trend.

CPU team building is a little wonky still, Clemson has 8 QBs on the roster in year six

The end result always being in OT, regardless of the score, has been a glitch since release. It's definitely an awkward headline showing so and so beat so and so 45-21 in OT. Lol.

They were the lone G5 team so it makes sense based on the rules. Higher ranked teams had much fewer losses for sure

Ahh, so they weren’t an at large then. I guess they just had a great season. In all of my tests prepatch (and the 4 seasons of my actual dynasty) the 5th conference champ (be it group of 5, Big XII, or ACC) was always seeded #12 as they were always ranked behind the 7th at large school.
