One of my favorite things about the game is being able to make own custom playbooks. Figured we could make a thread to share playbooks, ideas, schemes, plays, etc. as well as just some general playbook talk.

i'm gonna start out as an OC in dynasty so im only gonna make a custom offensive playbook. my number 1 goal as a coach is to get my players drafted so i'm gonna create a pro style shotgun scheme that matches the trends of the nfl so my players will have tape that shows gm's that they can fit into any system, none of that gimmicky triple option bull****. it's gonna be shotgun based and i'm gonna take elements of the shanahan/mcvay offense and use primarily bunch formations and heavily utilize outside zone to marry the run and the pass with play action. then i'm gonna implement parts of the mike mcdaniel scheme and use timing based crossing routes over the middle and a bunch of motion. the run game will be alot of outside zone like i said but i'm also gonna mix in a lot of gap running, mainly counter to play off of the heavy amount of motion i'm gonna use.

Has anyone had an issues selecting a custom playbook as the default in their dynasty mode? I have to switch it from the default version to the custom version in the pregame menu every time because only the default/school versions come up when I try to change in Dynasty scheme settings.

Same issue. Going to mess with it later and try to find a work around.

Also have had where custom playbooks won’t download.

I don't think you can do it. Hopefully they patch it in.

It's the same in Madden and it was the same in NCAA 14. It would be a new feature and I doubt they'd add that in now after release.

Yep same issues we’ve had in Madden a few years now. Not the end of the world but very annoying.

On the positive side, I’ve finished my first 2 playbooks. Got a few more on the horizon. I’m away from my PS5, but once I get back gonna give some details about my Harding playbook and spread triple option playbook.

It was definitely not like that in NCAA14. I used both custom offense and defense playbooks as my dynasty’s playbooks in the coach’s screen or wherever you could assign them.

Creating playbooks & schemes is my favorite part of these games. But man, the custom playbook features are always so lacking.

The custom playbook feature of CFB25 is basically identical to madden, but they fixed the glitch where one of the situations was ghosted and couldn't be edited which screwed up all the gameplan features.

Still, I've run into several problems:

1. The 3-3-5 TITE plays show up in "all plays" but when I select them, they don't show up in my playbook.

2. The 3-3-5 TITE playbook has a formation called "3-3-5 TITE" and three sets, one of which is MINT. In custom playbooks, there is a formation called "3-3-5" that has a set called "TITE." I THINK this is 3-3-5 TITE MINT, but I don't know why the names are different.

3. You don't get the cool formation names in the air raid playbook.

4. The menus are very slow.

5. When I delete all plays in a set, it kicks me back out to first formation in my playbook. So as I'm cleaning out sets inside Shotgun, I delete a set, it kicks me back out to Maryland I, and then I've got to Navigate back to Shotgun and scroll through the sets to get back where I was.

6. The sets have no apparent order. Scrolling through 900 shotgun sets to find what you're looking for is a huge PITA.

7. I like to keep my playbook small and sometimes might have 10 plays for one gameplan situation. I haven't finished my playbook, so a few of my situations have 1 filler play just so I can save it. When I play the game, in some of the situations for which I have 10 plays gameplanned, the computer's only suggestion is the 1 play filler I have for other situations.

8. Even though I have 10 plays saved for a situation, it seems like the computer only likes 6 of them and only shows me those 6. This was an issue in Madden where you had to have 30 plays for every situation otherwise the suggestions didn't work. But I want those 10 plays to show up. I don't want to pick 30 plays and have the computer decide which 9 or 12 it wants to show me. The idea is to use it like a play calling sheet.

At work now but I just had an idea to run a hurry up offense out of variations on the I Formation.

Come out in an I Slot or I Pro pass, hurry up into I Close for a toss or zone weak because those plays are kind of OP. This 'should' be super effective against other players. Going to try it when I get home.

Also, not sure what they did with the patch on Tuesday, but PA is basicially pointless. The pass rush is too good and the secondary doesn't flinch anymore, even if you've been gashing them on the ground.

One of the playbooks I was going to make was an I pllaybook for some old school ground and pound. Stuff out of the strong I Wing I found in the Liberty playbook seems to be a good place to start.

Not sure if I can ask questions in here but, for those that have it I have 3 questions. First, is there a play/formation limit? In 14 I believe it was 367/40 respectively. Second can you order the formations? In 14 the order was set by the playbook so I-Form, Pistol, Shotgun, etc showed up in the playbook in whichever order the game determined rather than letting us set them. And lastly, can you reorder the plays as you see fit? Again in reference to 14, if you wanted all your run plays on the first 2 pages you could reorder the book in that fashion by dragging and dropping the plays. Is that still in this game?

In madden, the formations are listed in game in the order that you put them into the playbook. So you could order them how you want, but it’s a PITA. I assume it works the same in CFB but I haven’t tested.

Lovely. No idea why they wouldn't let you order the plays or formations. I liked being able to put all the jet plays together for a nice little mini series. Guess that's out the window this year
