No Formation Subs Or Mass Subs?

The more I read into this game the more I’m starting to believe that dynasty mode just isn’t going to be very good. At least not at first until several patches hit. Recruiting looks easy and now I’m hearing the CPU doesn’t sub their guys in blowouts. Which is odd because it seems that would go directly against this fancy new wear and tear system. Also going to kill simmed stats.

The number lock, no create a player for dynasty mode, all these other little things are going kill realism in dynasty mode.

Hopefully there’s a day 1 patch to fix some of these issues that will make the game fun for the people they keep saying this game was made for. Until then I’m getting a real Madden vibe. A game that looks amazing but the small details just aren’t great. RTG might have some replay value though.

That’s a bummer if slightly easy recruiting (which sounds like will be tweaked anyways) and made subs are two minor things that kill the game for you.

Simmed stats was bug as well

I have never developed a video game, so take this with a grain of salt…

But I don’t get why there needs to be a Day 1 patch? I get it for the annual release cycles just given how things are, but this team had what… 4 years? So you’re telling me you are going to fix something in a few weeks that you couldn’t do in 4 years?

EA should hire like 50 ppl to come play the shame and slice and dice the sh*t out of it to find all of this stuff. Hell you could hire 50 ppl off this board and get what you need. Their QA seems to be lacking.

Doesn’t every game have a day 1 platch these days? Even for games that have a several year dev cycle

Almost every game that releases has a Day 1 patch, to fix and adjust things they have worked on since the game went gold and got shipped out.

The game has to go gold at some point before release. That's the version that ships on physical discs and is uploaded to the store as 1.0. They don't stop working on the game between the day of going gold and the release date, so the updates and fixes they made in that timeframe go into the day 1 patch.

"No formation subs is bizarre. You also can’t sub in the 1st team or 2nd team. Training results doesn’t show how much a player went up in overall. Quality of life things that I wish were there."

Formation subs are a pretty huge deal with wear and tear, but also just in general. They’re used a ton in college football. ‘14 had it, Madden has it, that’s a shocking thing to leave out.

Agreed it is quite shocking.

Now I wonder if there is a formation sub menu in the dynasty hub where we can set up formation subs pre game.

But yes that is an odd QOL omission.
