    The EA College Football Effect

If not this year, then next...but I fully expect Madden to be better than it's ever been going forward. You CANNOT allow little brother to outshine you. The college dev came with plenty ammo in this first installment. The Madden team has no choice but to step it up...and I'm here for it!!

Sure hope so... before seeing what madden has to offer this year, my plan is to get CFB this year and Madden next year and hopefully alternate between the two. Madden needs to be worth buying though. I hope they put some real effort into progressing game this year.

I know we are all assuming it is but has CFB announced it will be a yearly title. I think they could really show the sports gaming world what releasing a roster update and a new game every 2 years could do for innovation.

They haven't outright said it from what I've read, but there have been a few "we wanted to get this in for this year, but it's now something we're planning for next year" quotes from various devs.

I'm with you though. The best future for sports games is a new release every two years and a roster update & UT reset during the off-year.

College football is a much larger scope than the NFL. While a lot could be patched in with rosters, commentary and stadium renovations, modes are still going to be improved upon like teambuilder, RTG and Dynasty. I fully expect they will get FCS teams in by year 3 or 4. They will make big jumps from year 1 to 2 and year 2 to 3 before they start to level out, IMO.

They have discussed what will be in next year's title that they couldn't get to this year so pretty sure it's an annual release. EA ain't going to go to a two year dev cycle because that's losing a ton of annual sales.

The only way they'd do that is to charge for 2 years, so you guys ready to shell out $139 if the game is developed and released every two years?

Hah, I thought not, and EA knows no one will either so it's annual, because...money

Totally get it, I’ll be adopting the NCAA one year, Madden the next model.

Great to have 2 football games on the market again!

My concern is they promote the key CFB devs up to Madden and CFB doesnt get quality replacement devs. But the CFB return is the best thing for the Madden consumer. A little friendly competition for Madden is a great thing.

Generated draft classes transfer from CF25 to Madden would of saved this game imo
Noticed I said generated not real college players!

I don't think Ben and Sean would go to Madden unless College calls it a day. Ben was with Madden and came back to College.

And the discussion of a every other year release probably wouldn't happen, it would be great for gamers, but terrible for stockholders counting on yearly releases.

I liked Madden 24 but would rather things that aren't and haven't been right with the game get cleaned up than concentrating on the flashy new features that for alot of us are nice but not that necessary.

I guess both can happen but only time will tell.

I think the vast majority of people that are buying this game would be 100% okay if FCS teams were included but all their rosters were fictional players. I think even the vast majority would be okay in that situation if most or even all stadiums were the same 10-20 generic stadiums.

If most fans were more than fine to have fake players for all FBS teams, I think most would definitely be okay with fake players for all FCS teams if it meant they were in the game, could be played as, could move up to the FBS level, etc.

Those executives NEED their revenue bonuses! They aren't going to pass up getting a fat bonus just for the sake of making a better product.

Can you imagine working on Madden and hearing everyone praise the college game while throwing your game under the bus ? It's really interesting to see how it unfolds and they will make franchise a priority.
