Re: UFC INTEL LEAKED CLIP
They both look bad imo, but then again I'm far from an expert.
The UFC4 segment looks worse as the strikes just hit the gloves and end up knocking him out. Is that possible?
However, UFC5 seems like an instance where the defending players just lets go of the defense button.Comment

Re: UFC INTEL LEAKED CLIP
Apart from terrible GnP animations, we need head movement in the bottom position. and we have to be able to throw punches like undisputed3. It has been over 10 years a lot of users requested that features. but they didn't care.Comment

Re: UFC INTEL LEAKED CLIP
I think it could look worse cuz the guy controlling max might not know how to play. A lot times ppl at these events aren’t gamers at all and have never played a mma game in their life. Even the guy controlling volk didn’t vary punches at all.
What I’m looking at is the positive
-Ref interaction is HUGE for me I’ve been asking for that since the 1st game
- more weight in punches, ufc 4 had a bit of pitter patter although still robotic but it’s a video game.
-lighting looks WAY better
I’ll reserve judgment for gameplay reveal. Like someone said it’s like 6 sec clip, doesn’t seem like they know what they’re doing, could be an older build for the demo who knowsComment

Re: UFC INTEL LEAKED CLIP
Regardless of how old the clip is, the response to it has been asinine. If you actually take a minute to look at it, the clip is taking place less than 30 seconds into the first round. The person who recorded it is quite clearly just trying to show the new referee interactions during stoppages. They've been playing with a second controller connected but not doing anything with it, and they've just taken Max down and spammed the same punch until the referee jumped in - showcasing exactly what they were aiming to. The referee interaction looked really good.
We know there are new ground and pound animations, including elbows. This has been confirmed. So at worst, ground and pound will be the same mechanics but expanded with new animations/strikes.
Even if the ground and pound had received zero updates, this clip would still not mean all that much. I really didn't like the ground and pound system from UFC 4, but it's unreasonable for everyone to expect that EA are suddenly going to have reworked every single system from UFC 4 for UFC 5. They have made it clear that a huge chunk of dev time was spent on migrating to the Frostbite engine. There's only so much they can actually improve on in the time that they have.Comment

It’s been like 3 years since the last game. I think that is more than enough time to make the ground and pound look so unrealistic and stiff. It seriously looks absolutely nothing like real life ground strikes do, and worse than it did in previous MMA games.

Re: UFC INTEL LEAKED CLIP
I'm sure it takes a lot of effort but they also had a lot of time. It's a game that keeps building over the last one so lets not act like they have to start over every time. I don't like the excuse stuff for missing stuff that should have been there not just now, but long ago already. It just doesn't look good.
They have a different engine that is long overdue for a game that was never really responsive, and now suddenly they're using it as an excuse that other things aren't there. They weren't doing this in the last game when most of the resources went into creating clowns and Hasbulla masks.
I'm hoping they drop the gameplay trailer in the upcoming week, they used to drop a video every week when they started to market their games atleast. I'm not any less excited than before the reveal because I kept my expectations fairly in check, but I do want to see some footage of actual gameplay because those cinematic videos really do not tell you anything of value.Comment

Re: UFC INTEL LEAKED CLIP
The reaction to it is far from asinine but rather normal. The expectation is that the featured clips will show the best of the game, and this is clearly very underwhelming in that regard...
I'm sure you realize not everyone will take a minute to analyse the clip. Most people viewing this will just take away that the game probably sucks (even though realistically it will potentially say very little).Comment
