Attempt #3: Raytracing side-by-side screenshots, PC vs xbox

Saw someone ask about seeing raytracing compared with xbox and PC, figured I'd post what I could:
    • I disabled HDR on both PC and xbox. I don't know whether that makes a difference or not with lighting/ray tracing.
    • Xbox Series X in 1080p, Madden 24 in "performance mode"
      • Xbox screenshot was piped in through a capture card to Avermedia center.

    • PC with RTX 3080ti, 1080p with everything on High.
      • "Ambient Occlusion Quality" tested with "Ray traced" and "Medium"/ray tracing off.

    • 1:00 game, clear weather in all screenshots
    • These aren't super high-res screenshots, I used a free tool called Techsmith capture.
    • Madden's lighting changes, depending on quarter and who has possession, I tried to maintain consistency with this but some screenshots are from the 2nd quarter

On PC, I haven't made any changes in Nvidia to adjust sharpness. 3d grass looks pretty good on PC, but doesn't come through in the screenshots. Xbox looks far sharper in the screenshots and with my own eyes looking at both side-by-side. Again, this can probably be adjusted in Nvidia control panel in the game.

This is not really intended for a graphics comparison, just wanted to compare the lighting.

Looks like the PC version is being butchered by little-to-no anisotropic filtering (notice the quality of the mid-field and endzone logos for example). I would try forcing AF to 16x in the Nvidia Control Panel and then re-taking a screenshot from the same field position.

Yeah, purpose was to screenshot "out-of-the-box" but I plan on adjusting anisotropic filtering in the control panel.

In the beta there was a constant error about Ray Tracing being enabled, but not actually being turned on. I wonder if the same issue is happening in the retail version, we just don't have all of the prompts on screen that appeared in the beta anymore for obvious reasons. I've had Ray Tracing turned on since I first launched the game, and if it is on, I definitely cannot see it.

Ok, so this is strange. On my PC at the same exact settings (1080p/High) my field's decal/texture quality looks much better than yours. Just compare our endzones, for example. It's a night and day difference.

I also double checked and Anisotropic Filtering is not being forced in the Nvidia Control Panel. No idea what would cause our texture quality to differ so drastically. Perhaps a serious bug with the game, or some strange driver-related issue?

It looks like his may be using DOF a little more aggressively

Yeah, weird! I forced 16x AF and it looks like yours.

It's possible that I had AF set to off, globally, in Nvidia control panel? Not sure, I've been tweaking some settings and didn't write down my original settings.
