I don’t think real time player grades were in the beta, otherwise I would have gotten or should have gotten an F when I threw 8 INTs in one game to see what would happen.

Enough difference from franchise it's worth playing as a fun standalone mode. I wonder if scenarios are unique or the same?

Having said that, it's a shame tiered abilities didn't make it into Franchise mode too (my guess is having to code a cpu progression and regression system would take longer).

It would've been nice for tiered abilities to be in Franchise. I want to play Player Lock in Franchse because I want to play as a Safety or Edge Rusher. It would've been nice to use those tiered abilities

Do we have to earn a starting spot or are we put as a starter right away again? Imagine being a RB and getting picked by the Titans or 49ers and being given the starter spot, that won’t make sense.

Looks like fun. I like the camera angles and the goals of hitting certain TD marks with your player. Sponsor deals look cool too.

I hope one day we can get an equivalent of The Crib from 2K5 in a mode like this or just as a general game system like 2k5 had. That was such a sick feature.

What I want is for the unlocks to reset when I delete a superstar mode save.

This has always been optional by toggling on/off "Instant Starter" in the league settings when you setup Superstar mode

The problem is, with QB for instance in player franchise, if you turn off instant starter you're likely to get cut in preseason in the current iteration because all the scenario stuff is geared toward a starter. There's no dialogue about a player who's to be the future of the franchise etc. So it's start or start over. At least that has been my experience.

In M23's face of the franchise you're supposed to be the guy when you get to the new team.

This years superstar mode is a separate entity from franchise superstar mode. It's face of the franchise with a few more bells and whistles.

We essentially have 2 separate superstar modes in Madden 24. One is essentially a story mode and the other is a player lock franchise.

No. Online only. Which is really unfortunate since at some point those servers are gonna get turned off and a whole mode will be unusable. You can do a player franchise offline though.

Thinking about it more the superstar mode got some really cool additions that could be seamlessly put into franchise. The live player grading would be awesome to have for all your players to get a detailed breakdown of how they play each game. I also think they could put those minigames playable for the proday scouting portion. You pick 3 prospects and run them through a drill and you get a percentage based on how well you did. I'm sure there's more that could be added from superstar mode into franchise to make it much more immersive.

I think a big problem with those single player modes is that a lot of dev time goes to building those modes out for essentially one year unless they continue to build on it.
