I'll reserve full judgement until I have it in my hands, but it still looks like Fifa-skating to me. With PES, you could tell players had weight and momentum while moving. Not seeing that here in these clips, still the fast moving runs that have quick transitions to other motion animations

Something that still drives me insane in FIFA, that's been around for a while now, is how players seem to only run at full speed in certain directions. It seems diagonal runs are slower, and the pivoting can be infuriating as well. Plenty of times I'll try to make a good run to cut off an attacking forward, only for the game to force me into this weird path that is slow and completely out of the way.

I really hope EA fixes things for 24, but considering they can't even fit a bug that wipes all player settings in nearly a full year of their FIFA 23 game being out, I'm not holding my breath. Not so long as offline play doesn't turn into Youtube streams and pack openers generating tons of money.

None of this looks bad to me. It's all great stuff. However, I don't care if there are signature animations from players if the overall gameplay isn't improved. And we already know that we're going to see more of the same from midfielders and players watching the play unfold.

It is, as I say with the utmost frustration, just a reality of FIFA at this point that I cannot count on non-controlled players to make a crucial play. They're more apt to actually back away from the ball. And we know this is a CHOICE, because the AI does NOT do this in a player career. The midfield is much much better.

Now if this deep dive showed me how the AI improved, I'd be much more excited. I hate seeing a loose ball and watching a player on my team actually backpedal AWAY from the ball even though they were actually closer to it than the other team. It kills me.

So, none of this is bad, it's all fine technology. Looks great. The Frostbite stuff looks stellar. But man...fix the stuff that drives us nuts.

Have to be honest, never bought PES. Only played the demos cause I thought the graphics were sh**. But you could tell there was momentum and weight behind payer movement
