Jalen Hurts could throw for 6,000 yards and toss 60 TDs and they wouldn't rate him in the 90's.

James Bradberry IV dropping a point to an overall 84
That's quite petty by EA lol!

I know there's alot that goes into rating players.I did rosters for 2k5 a few years but you can't have favorite team bias either.

Dak,in the context of where other qbs are rated should be an 84 tops by now. There are a few other examples, like Zeke's been too high for a couple years now but that's just how I see it.

I mean, EA has increased Jalen Hurts’ OVR (+13 from OVR 74) more than any other quarterback in the game except Geno Smith (+14). I don’t think there’s really any disrespect here at all lol.

I do think they’ve got his THP a bit too low (currently 86). Hurts posted the 11th and 15th longest completions by air yards in the NFL this season, and at the 2020 Senior Bowl he threw the ball further and with faster initial velocity than any other passer who attended (which notably included Justin Herbert and Jordan Love, who both get credit for their big arms in Madden). THP 86 is basically the knife edge of quarterback viability in Madden; so Hurts’ rating here ought to go up by a point or two IMO.

I would also give him Outside Deadeye, he throws a fantastic deep ball on vertical routes to receivers outside the numbers.

He definitely needs Fastbreak and some boost on short yardage runs.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Jackson was released from the Ravens on January 7, per Wikipedia.

No idea why he wouldn’t be in the free agent list, though.

He might be in free agent list once you get in franchise but not in main menu rosters

It isn't unusual for EA to put a QB in the 90's after a great season. Hurts was arguably the best QB in the NFL this season, worst case being the 2nd. The fact that there are 5 other QB, not named Mahomes, ahead of him is a joke. And Dak being tied at 87 is a joke. Dak was one of the worst starting QB's in the league this season.

Why is Zeke in the top-15 RB's? I know I'm just focusing on Dallas like some other posters, but there is real bias involved.

There is no reason that Hurts shouldn't end the season as one of the top-3 QB's in the league with rating. Especially considering how he played in the SB. There is indeed a bias against him. Going into the season many thought he couldn't throw, myself included. He proved everyone wrong. I think that was also part of the reason his rating was 74 to even begin the season.

Dallas has won at least 12 games over each of the past two seasons. They are a good football team with good football players. Madden has correctly evaluated them as such.

I mean, there are plenty of reasons, starting with the idea that Jalen Hurts is a fine football player but he has not yet acquitted himself as one of the three best drop-back passers in the NFL, and Madden’s QB OVR rating calculation is heavily biased towards players with elite throwing abilities.

Much of Hurts’ production in 2022 was on the back of an elite zone read and RPO heavy run game, about which I wrote an article for this website. During the season the Eagles were less dependent on Hurts’ passing. For example, PFF credits Dak Prescott with effectively just as many Big Time Throws (19) as Hurts (20); PFF describes a Big Time Throw as “a pass with excellent ball location and timing, generally thrown further down the field and/or into a tighter window”. Prescott matched Hurts in this regard despite taking 100 fewer pass drops (430 vs 542) and starting 3 fewer games (12 vs 15).

On a more elementary level: let’s at least see Jalen Hurts pass for 4,000 yards in a full season first?

If not for injury he would have had 4000 yds.....
