What is included:
After about six months of work, I have completed this labor of love from my childhood. It contains 38 ABA and NBA teams from the 1970s and early 1980s.
To make the league more competitive, I added certain players that played for the team in different years. So for instance, the Cleveland Cavaliers of 1975-1976 has the top 11 players from that squad, with additional players like Elmore Smith added. In real life, Elmore played for the team in 1976-1977, but included him to make the team more competitive. If you have ADD, I apologize, but it's for the good of the league. I want any team to be able to surprise, and this makes it more unpredictable.
There are some duplicates on different teams, though not many. For instance, Nate Thurmond is both on the Cavaliers and the Warriors. You can remove him from one of the teams if you like, but he is there on both teams for competition sake.
I also took a lot of time to remove 99% of the nicknames which was enormously time-consuming, but at least you will hear almost none of "Mr. fundamentals passes to ABC, over to A-Train" crap!
All the custom-made ABA or NBA teams are in place of the current NBA teams (except the raptors and magic which are filled with experimental fake players). So there are 28 regular teams, along with the 1970 Lakers, 1971 knicks, 1978 clippers, 1979 Hawks, 1984 Cavaliers, 1982 Nets in the classic year section and the Cincinnati Royals, early 80s Utah Jazz, early 70s Phoenix Suns and late 70s Seattle Supersonics teams in the all time section.
Thanks to Bassman58 for taking the time to create custom uniforms and floors for all the ABA teams, and Dlubell and the amazing 2k77 team for the base roster, which I overhauled with new tendencies and ratings to improve the gameplay and make it more true to the era. I also overhauled the playbooks using VanWolfhawk's suggestions, and added the historic coaches as well. Finally, I fixed the sock glitch so that all socks are white now, and not crazy colors like red or green.
Also credit goes to mjk2000, kidhybrid89, Leonchu, Takeshi, TWEAL, doctahtobogganMD, Vindragon, Wan Chai, Shuajota, 2Kspecialist, for the cyberfaces. Apologies to anyone I might have missed in the above credits.
SETTINGS
IMPORTANT:
game speed 65 (important because the below parameters are very slow, so this will offset what is below to allow for better gameplay)
Injuries off, otherwise tweak as you see fit.
In MYLEAGUE:
1. Set all teams to 65 help defense.
2. Set 99 run plays for each team to avoid over dribbling one-on-one play.
3. Set defensive focus: protect the paint
so that there will be more fouls and encourage less driving to the basket which is OP.
4. Set defensive aggression: play physical Defense
