Just wondering how do you guys go about challenging plays? Like do you keep the challenge for late in the game? Do you just try to use it the first time you think there is a missed call? etc? I wonder how teams would go about this when they first added being able to use them. Being you only get 1 a game and there are clearly more than 1 missed or bad called made per game in the nba I always thought the way you should use it is either wait for a big call late in the game or if there is a questionable call made that gets 1 of your star players in foul trouble.

Challenging plays?
I personally have never challenged a call. I notice it is available after a foul and maybe after you go out of bounds. (I think)I would think if it worked properly it would be extremely handy if you thought you got a shut off in time before for the buzzer. I wish others who have tried to use it would chime in. When I think of challenging calls I always thought of the old Madden when challenging calls actually worked. So I am a little bit curious how the challenge works, if it all in this game

Re: Challenging plays?
I use it plenty, and have gotten plenty of calls overturned! In 2K22 it happened more often, I noticed it mostly happens on shooting fouls when I jump to aggressively try and block jumpshots, I end up spiking the ball and the refs call foul. Then I challenge the call and get it overturned. Id say it has happened like, around 10 times? between 2K22 and 23Comment

Re: Challenging plays?
I was called for a charging call on Jordan Clarkson, but I clearly saw Jabari Smith Jr. way inside the no charge zone. So I quickly challenged, they showed the replay and it's super obvious that it's the wrong call. "The ruling on the floor is confirmed", timeout Jazz. Never challenged again!
This worked better in 22 where I can win challenges specially on shot contests! It's hard to win charging calls if you feel you drew it since they only consider a charge if your feet are planted (animation to take charge finishes) before contact or the CPU holds the turbo (which there is no way of knowing).Comment

Re: Challenging plays?
I'm on current gen and I used it yesterday.
Score tied with 20 seconds left. Damian Lillard drives to the basket and is fouled by Scottie Pippen on a layup.
I challenged the called and the replay showed there wasn't any contact. The call was reversed and we had a jump ball at center Court.
I managed to win the jump ball and was able to win the game by two! What we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

Re: Challenging plays?
I am not sure if its different on like ps4 and ps5 but on ps5 push the middle pad like you are going to call a timeout and it will have options of like time out, timeout and challenge or something like that.Comment

Re: Challenging plays?
I think after you get fouled, go out of bounds or a whistle is blown press the timeout button and you’ll get a choice to do a challenge or a time out
